On the evening of September 9, the Golden Kite Awards 2023 took place at the Do Theater, Nha Trang. This is an annual award of the Vietnam Cinema Association to honor authors, artists, filmmakers and outstanding works in the genres of cinema, television, documentary, etc.
This year's event gathered nearly 1,000 attendees, including nearly 500 filmmakers, directors, and more than 100 Vietnamese stars. Artists enthusiastically participated in film events in Nha Trang to honor award-winning works and individuals.
At the award ceremony, the film Mother Rom directed by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Phuong Dien won the 2023 Golden Kite Award for the Television Drama category. Mother Rom surpassed the nominations including: Don't Make Me Angry, Dawn Ahead, Are You A Man?
The Silver Kite Award for Outstanding Television Drama was given to Are You a Man? and Dawn Before.
Other works awarded certificates of merit are: Don't Make Mom Angry , Silk and Mother's Dream.
The Golden Kite Award for Best Film was given to the film Glorious Ashes by director Bui Thac Chuyen.
The Silver Kite for Feature Film was awarded to the film Con Nhót mot chong by Vu Ngoc Dang and the film Nha ba Nu by Tran Thanh.
Surpassing Alvin Lu in the movie Em va Trinh , Thai Hoa in the movie Con nhot mot chong excellently won the award for Best Actor in a movie .
He later received the award for Best Actor in a TV Series for Mother Rom , but Thai Hoa was absent from this year's awards ceremony . Director Nguyen Phuong Dien went on stage to receive the award on his behalf.
So for the first time in the history of the Kite Awards, an actor received the award for Best Actor in both film and television at the same time.
Best Actress in a TV Drama was awarded to Quynh Kool in the film Don't Make Me Angry .
Best Actress in a Motion Picture was awarded to Thu Trang in the film Con Nhót nhớt chồng .
Thu Trang and her husband Tien Luat went up to receive the award. She shared that she felt nervous standing on stage. She also thanked the Organizing Committee of the 2023 Kite Awards, director Vu Ngoc Dang, the cast and crew of Con Nhót nhớt chồng for helping the film be well received by the audience and giving her the opportunity to receive the award.
