The actor shared more "In the current film scene, it is not easy to find a war-themed film project like Tunnels that has investors to invest in. There was a time when I thought I wouldn't be able to do the project and my role would be cut, but fate kept the role for me, so I am the lucky one."
In response to questions about whether the reduced salary will affect family life, Thai Hoa frankly shared: " That salary is enough to live on (laughs), I'm not too rich but I don't lack anything. He revealed that he encountered many difficulties and even accidents on set, such as having his toenails ripped off during a scene or having his face burned by a detonator. Living with the character for a long time made his body always covered in mud and he often fell into a state of fatigue after each scene.
However, Thai Hoa affirmed that he felt more "happy" than "suffering" when acting. Tunnel. He said: "Personally, I really like it and feel happy when playing such roles because I only have to wear one outfit and get dirty every day on set. After filming, I can lie down anywhere. But playing a rich, tycoon role is much more tiring. After filming, it's hard to sit down and rest because the costumes have to be fixed again.
There are also many scenes of hunger and frugal eating in the film. For example, in this film, we mainly eat fried rice. When playing a rich character, sometimes we have to film the lobster eating scene four or five times, and sometimes we even get sick. It sounds hard, but it's actually much more comfortable..." Thai Hoa said he does not consider this role as exceeding his personal limits but is simply enjoying his work.
When asked about the pressure of revenue when being called the "box office king", Thai Hoa affirmed that no actor can guarantee box office, but the quality of the film is what attracts audiences to the theater.
"We have seen many films, both in the world and in Vietnam, with young actors or even new faces, still achieving great success. I think the emotion of the film is the deciding factor, hopefully the film will win in terms of emotion." He also emphasized his role as an actor, trying to complete the role well.
