In order to proactively prevent the outbreak and spread of diseases, and to eliminate them, ensuring stable and sustainable development of livestock production, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued a plan to vaccinate livestock and poultry against diseases in the 2023 autumn-winter crop.
Vaccination against bird flu in Kien Xuong district.
The campaign will be carried out across the province from September 20 to October 5. The vaccination rate for "red" diseases for pigs will reach 90% or more of the total herd; the vaccination rate for anthrax and lumpy skin disease for buffalo and cows will reach over 80% of the total herd; the vaccination rate for rabies in dogs and cats will increase by 10-15% compared to the same period in 2022; the vaccination rate for foot-and-mouth disease for buffalo, cows, sows and boars will reach 90% or more; and the vaccination rate for avian influenza will reach at least 80% of the total herd at risk and eligible for vaccination.
The state budget supports vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease and other “red” diseases in pigs of small farms and households; supports vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease for buffalo, cows and goats in the province. Other types of vaccines are not eligible for support.
