Based on the forecasted gross regional domestic product (GRDP), Thai Binh province strives to achieve an average housing area per capita of 35 square meters per person by 2030. Of which, urban areas will reach 39 square meters per person and rural areas will reach 32.3 square meters per person.
Based on population forecasts and average housing area per capita, the total housing area of the province by 2030 will strive to reach more than 73.4 million m2 of floor space. Notably, the housing area in rural areas will be larger than in urban areas, with a total area of more than 40.6 million m2 .
Regarding housing quality, Thai Binh province is determined that by 2025 there will be no more simple houses, solid houses will reach 99% and by 2030 solid houses will reach 99.5%.
The province's requirement is that new housing must ensure quality according to standards and regulations, be linked to urban development projects, ensure synchronous technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, traffic infrastructure connection, digital infrastructure, design to expand the space of amenities, and the functions of the house in the direction of developing green, sustainable, low-emission spaces.
Also based on the calculation of the increased housing area through the stages and the implementation of housing development projects, the current status of housing development by people building their own houses, the current status of policy households needing housing support, Thai Binh province set a target of completing more than 38,000 commercial houses by 2030; more than 31,000 social houses; nearly 20,000 houses for workers and more than 11,000 houses for low-income people.
To achieve the above goal, the land area needed to develop commercial housing by 2030 is 910 hectares; social housing is 134 hectares; housing for workers is 92 hectares and housing for low-income people is 42 hectares.
According to calculations, the capital for housing development mentioned above is very large. Specifically, in the period of 2021-2025, it is nearly 100,000 billion VND and in the period of 2026-2030, it is nearly 125,000 billion VND.
