The program consisted of two main parts: presentations byFPT Group, Thanh Nien Newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City Television, and Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, and a discussion on the topic "Digital Transformation in Journalism - A Breakthrough for the Future".
Mr. Le Quoc Minh and Mr. Truong Gia Binh coordinated the discussion activities.
At the seminar, delegates listened to presentations on the achievements of digital transformation at several media organizations. They also discussed the challenges facing these organizations in the digital age, the impact of technology on journalism, and future technological opportunities and solutions. Furthermore, the delegates engaged in frank and open discussions, contributing valuable and multifaceted insights.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh also shared his thoughts on the rapid development of AI technology and its applications in various aspects of social life in general, and in the fields of media and journalism in particular.
Based on experiences meeting and working with major media organizations around the world , along with personal assessments, the Chairman of FPT Group presented an impressive forecast of the future transformation of digital newsrooms. The applications of AI technology in news writing, image creation, music composition, etc., presented at the seminar, were also a captivating topic for the attendees.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of FPT Group, delivered a speech at the seminar.
With the theme "Bringing the entire process and journalistic activities to the digital environment," Mr. Nguyen Khac Van – Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper – provided an overview of the unit's digital transformation process. Accordingly, the Editorial Board of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper clearly recognizes that digital transformation is an essential requirement to be implemented in all activities of the agency.
However, there are still many obstacles in the digital transformation process at Saigon Giai Phong newspaper. For example, the newspaper has not yet established regulations for implementing the work steps in the general journalistic process of its publications and online newspaper, which specialized departments and resident reporters must strictly adhere to.
Furthermore, the Saigon Liberation Newspaper lacks a comprehensive software application system to support its editorial and publishing activities, integrating both print and online versions. The existing applications are not specifically designed for journalism and therefore lack the functions needed to meet the specific demands of the job.
"Although the technical infrastructure and technology serving the newspaper's operational and publishing processes have been improved and upgraded, they are still fragmented and do not fully meet the requirements for improving the quality of multimedia journalism. Meanwhile, the newspaper is facing financial difficulties and cannot equip itself with the necessary resources...", said the leader of Saigon Giai Phong newspaper.
Sharing his views on the responsibilities of media leaders in the digital transformation process, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper, also conveyed the message that the digital transformation of journalism and media will increasingly intersect within a broader concept of digital content. Jointly identifying challenges in journalism and media technology will help both sides explore mutually beneficial business opportunities, create new "Make in Vietnam" values, and thereby promote the country's development.

Mr. Toan also admitted that there are still many things he wants to achieve but hasn't yet, one of which is the application of technology to online newspapers. Thanh Nien newspaper does not have a self-built technology platform from scratch and relies almost entirely on domestic and international partners.
However, when working with partners who have overseas technical support teams, processing progress is often delayed due to time differences and limitations in the number of dedicated personnel. The costs to these partners are also very high, leading to lengthy investment approval procedures, including project preparation and bidding processes.
Sharing the difficulties faced by media organizations, Mr. Truong Gia Binh also stated that FPT is ready to cooperate with media organizations in addressing challenges and obstacles in applying technology to newsroom operations. The Chairman of FPT Group suggested that leaders of media organizations and FPT could meet immediately after the seminar to discuss cooperation and support for the digital transformation of journalism using FPT's modern technological resources.
Following the presentation, the program continued with a discussion on the topic "Digital Transformation in Journalism - A Breakthrough for the Future," chaired by Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of FPT Group.
Issues such as copyright, advertising in newspapers, and technological solutions like shared platforms and evaluation tools were also raised, highlighting the concerns and difficulties currently faced. The aim was to propose desired solutions to overcome existing limitations and accelerate the digital transformation process in a rapid and synchronized manner.
