Ban Gioc Waterfall is considered the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam, with its cascading tiers stretching hundreds of meters.
The beauty of Ban Gioc Waterfall was captured by author Vu Minh Hien in his photo album "Ban Gioc Waterfall, the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam" and submitted to the "Happy Vietnam" photo and video contest, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications .
Ban Gioc Waterfall is located in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province, on the Quay Son River. The eastern half of the waterfall on the right side is under Chinese sovereignty, located in Duc Thien village, Thac Long town, Dai Tan district, Chongzuo city.
The Quây Sơn River originates in China and flows into Vietnam at border marker 784 in the Pò Peo area, Ngọc Khê commune, Trùng Khánh district. After cascading down the waterfall, the river turns completely into Chinese territory.
Ranked among the top four largest transnational waterfalls in the world, Ban Gioc Waterfall annually attracts numerous domestic and international tourists who come to admire and capture its magnificent beauty.
The waterfall consists of two parts: the High Waterfall, which is a smaller waterfall due to its lower water volume, and the Low Waterfall, which is the main waterfall located on the Vietnam-China border marker.
On sunny days, those rays of light shine on the waterfall, resonating with the misty spray of water to create colorful, shimmering rainbows.
