The 2025 Oriental Light Festival is expected to be the largest Spring Festival in Vietnam with 580 events taking place continuously for 58 days from January 18 to March 16, with 1,000 culinary and shopping experience points, attracting millions of visitors to enjoy the Tet holiday.
The 2025 Oriental Light Festival includes many "festivals within festivals" with a series of continuous events, interwoven to create a colorful spring universe, full of experiences, promising an endless journey of discovery full of charm and attraction.
The most creative and unique highlight is the Ocean International Lantern Festival - Light of the East, opening on January 18, displaying 15 of the best works from the final round of the Ocean International Lantern Competition. The giant lantern clusters with sophisticated and unique designs from the teams of China, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam will recreate the mythical world of the East with mystical lights and modern technology such as "Lac Long Quan returns", "Holy Soul of Vietnam", "Dragon shines in the East" or "Wings of the future"...
In particular, for the first time, the world-famous Yuyuan Lantern Festival will be present in Vietnam with a familiar theme of Asian legends called "Shan Hai Di Ky Ky". "Shan Hai Di Ky Ky" is the world of mystical creatures described in the Shan Hai Jing - one of the oldest geography books of China dating back to the Warring States period. Combined with designs inspired by the book "Ling Nam Chich Quai" - a Vietnamese folk mythological book compiled and published at the end of the Tran Dynasty - the mythological beasts of the two countries create a magical world of "Oriental Mysterious Creatures". Highlights of the exhibition include the works “Dong A Dragon Gate”, “Fujian Divine Tree”, “Golden Turtle God”, “White Dragon” and “Water Palace Princess”, etc. Recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of China, the Yuyuan Lantern Festival attracted 4 million visitors during the 2024 festival season in Shanghai, while leaving a strong impression on the public in Paris (France) and around the world.
In addition to the unique lighting works, there is a nearly 2 km long lantern street along Pho Dong, San Ho streets and part of VinWonders Waves Park. With the message “Shine for Life”, the street not only offers the opportunity to enjoy the art of lanterns but also gives visitors the opportunity to send their wishes for peace in the new year on the Wishing Road located on the magical San Ho street with the purple light of the Magic Tree.
In addition to the super lighting products, Ocean City also offers a series of "best, most delicious and most Tet" Spring destinations with the Ocean Spring Fair, including 3 main spring fair chains with more than 250 booths. Starting with the 2025 Spring Fair (January 18 - January 26) with the theme "Bring Tet home - Happy Tet" at K-Town, gathering 116 booths of ornamental plants, cuisine, Tet gifts, handicrafts, specialties of 40 provinces and cities...
