With the desire that everyone, especially poor households, can celebrate Tet in a joyful, warm, and fulfilling atmosphere, during Tet, the Fatherland Front at all levels in Vinh Phuc province focused its efforts on caring for the people, especially the poor, those with difficult circumstances, and impoverished workers.
Based on the guidance from the Central Committee, the Fatherland Front of districts, cities, and towns, in coordination with the government, member organizations, and departments, branches, and mass organizations, will review and compile information on poor and near-poor households, and households with particularly difficult circumstances, in order to plan the mobilization of agencies, businesses, philanthropists, the community, families, clans, and social organizations to jointly care for the poor during Tet (Lunar New Year).
At the local level, the Fatherland Front committees at the district, city, town, commune, ward, and town levels, as well as member organizations, have proactively developed plans to support, assist, visit, and give gifts to eligible individuals, linking these efforts to the responsibilities of each sector and organization. In addition, the Fatherland Front at all levels has actively coordinated closely with the government and member organizations to disseminate information, mobilize resources, and concentrate efforts to provide meaningful and practical gifts to the poor as soon as possible.
In its sixth year of organizing the "Warm Tet in the Homeland" program, Vinh Tuong district presented Tet gifts to 395 poor households and 421 near-poor households with a total amount of 762 million VND. In addition, the district also allocated 280 million VND to purchase and donate health insurance cards to 300 newly-escaped-poverty households. The "Tet Reunion - Spring Sharing" program also provided gifts to 380 workers and laborers with a total amount of 190 million VND.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Phuc province, the work of caring for the poor during Tet (Lunar New Year) in the province has been seriously and effectively carried out by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in coordination with member organizations, agencies, units, and businesses.
During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon, the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province and its member organizations mobilized agencies, departments, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside the province to help the poor in various forms such as donating cash, goods, and essential supplies.
Along with support from the provincial budget, the Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations have mobilized social resources and allocated funds from the "For the Poor" fund to organize visits and provide support, distributing 54,440 gifts to the poor, members with particularly difficult circumstances, victims of Agent Orange, and other vulnerable individuals in the province, totaling over 27 billion VND. Of these, 13,039 gifts worth over 8.4 billion VND were distributed through the Fatherland Front system at all levels, and 41,401 gifts worth over 18.9 billion VND were distributed through member organizations. The minimum support was 300,000 VND for near-poor households and a maximum of 1,500,000 VND for poor households with particularly difficult circumstances and unable to work.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh affirmed that the organization of receiving and distributing Tet gifts to poor households was carried out systematically and thoughtfully by the Fatherland Front at all levels, ensuring that the plan was followed correctly. Based on the situation at the grassroots level, the mobilized resources were reviewed and allocated correctly and sufficiently to the intended recipients by all levels and sectors, preventing any negative incidents.
