Warm Tet comes to the poor

With the wish that everyone, every family, especially poor households, can celebrate Tet in a more joyful, warm and fulfilling atmosphere, during Tet, the Fatherland Front at all levels in Vinh Phuc province has focused on taking care of people, especially the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and poor workers.

Based on the guidance of the Central Government, the Fatherland Front of districts, cities and towns coordinates with the authorities, member organizations and departments, branches and unions to review and synthesize the situation of poor and near-poor households, households in especially difficult circumstances, to have a plan to mobilize agencies, businesses, philanthropists and communities, families, clans and social organizations to join hands to take care of Tet for the poor.

In localities, the Fatherland Front of districts, cities, towns, communes, wards and towns, and member organizations have proactively developed plans to support, help, visit and give gifts to the beneficiaries in line with the responsibilities of each sector and organization. Along with that, the Fatherland Front at all levels has proactively coordinated closely with the government and member organizations to propagate, mobilize and concentrate all resources to have meaningful and practical gifts to give to the poor as soon as possible.

In the 6th year of organizing the program "Tet Warm Homeland", Vinh Tuong district presented Tet gifts to 395 poor households and 421 near-poor households with a total amount of 762 million VND. Along with that, the district also allocated a budget of 280 million VND to buy insurance cards for 300 households that have just escaped poverty. Organizing the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Sharing" presented gifts to 380 workers and laborers with a total amount of 190 million VND.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Phuc province, the work of taking care of the poor during Tet in the province has been seriously implemented by the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Committee of the province in coordination with member organizations, agencies, units and enterprises, with high consensus and achieving practical results.

During the Lunar New Year, the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Committee at all levels in the province and its member organizations mobilized agencies, departments, branches, unions, enterprises, and philanthropists inside and outside the province to help the poor in many forms such as giving cash, goods, necessities, etc.

Along with the support from the provincial budget, the Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations have mobilized social resources, drawn from the "For the Poor" fund to organize visits and support activities to provide 54,440 gifts to the poor, members in especially difficult circumstances, victims of Agent Orange and vulnerable cases in the province with a total amount of more than 27 billion VND. Of which, through the Fatherland Front system at all levels, 13,039 gifts worth more than 8.4 billion VND were provided; through member organizations, 41,401 gifts worth more than 18.9 billion VND were provided. The lowest support level is 300,000 VND for near-poor households and the maximum is 1,500,000 VND for poor households in especially difficult circumstances who are unable to work.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh affirmed that the organization of receiving and giving Tet gifts to poor households was carried out methodically and thoughtfully by the Fatherland Front at all levels, ensuring compliance with the set plan. Through grasping the situation at the grassroots level, mobilized resources were reviewed and allocated correctly and sufficiently to the beneficiaries by all levels and sectors, preventing negative phenomena from occurring.
