As part of Telkomsel’s digital transformation roadmap, the telecom operator will move a number of IT applications to AWS, including customer-facing channels, Telkomsel’s Gaming Store Front, middleware, and machine learning applications. The move will help Telkomsel improve user experience by providing news services to its more than 153 million subscribers, as Indonesia has the fastest growing smartphone user base in the world.
Telkomsel operates 15 applications, including MyTelkomsel, DigiPos Aja!, Telkomsel's Gaming Store Front, Enterprise Service Bus… and several data platforms on the AWS cloud. As a result, Telkomsel has been able to reduce the time to deploy new infrastructure from seven days to less than an hour, while shortening the time to launch new applications and digital services by up to 40%.
“Using AWS’s leading cloud computing technology has opened up many future opportunities for our business. Using the AWS Asia Pacific (Jakarta) Region ensures that our data is protected with strong security measures and strict regulatory compliance,” said Hendri Mulya Syam, CEO of Telkomsel. Conor McNamara, Managing Director of AWS ASEAN, said bringing Amazon and AWS Skills Guild to Telkomsel ensures that the business has the infrastructure and digital skills needed to innovate and be ready for the digital future for Telkomsel to grow.
