The People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province in coordination with the Ministry of Science and Technology has just organized the Opening Ceremony of the Creative Startup Festival - Techfest in the North Central and Central Coast regions in 2024 in Thua Thien Hue province with the theme: "Regional linkage to promote creative startups and sustainable development".
Determined to build Thua Thien Hue into a Center of Science and Technology, the Techfest event in the North Central and Central Coast regions is the largest event gathering the region's creative startup community, experts, corporations, and investors from across the country and abroad.
The event is an opportunity to consult on policy mechanisms for creative startup investment activities; a forum to share, exchange, discuss, and raise priority issues in solving socio-economic development problems of the region.
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology - Hoang Minh spoke at the opening ceremony of the festival: “Innovative startup activities in Thua Thien Hue and the North Central and Central Coast regions in recent times have had many highlights and impressive results... events, competitions, programs such as local, regional and national Techfest are regularly held in the area. Many training, association and cooperation programs with domestic and international communities have been implemented, and the work of building mechanisms and policies has always received attention.
Currently, many creative startup centers have been and are being formed. Some creative startups in fields such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, tourism, etc. have had strong growth and connected with the national and foreign markets.
In the coming time, the Ministry of Science and Technology recommends that Thua Thien Hue and localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions strengthen regional linkages with initiatives and activities associated with regional development orientations. Thereby, facilitating the transfer of resources and exploiting local advantages in each locality for science, technology and innovation in general, and for creative startups in particular.
“The Ministry of Science and Technology is committed to always accompanying and supporting Thua Thien Hue and localities in the process of building and implementing activities to further increase the contribution of science, technology and innovation to the socio-economic development of the locality, the region and the country,” affirmed Deputy Minister Hoang Minh.
On this occasion, at the Forum “Connecting resources, promoting creative startups, developing the economy and society in the North Central and Central Coast regions”, Mr. Pham Hong Quat, Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises, assessed: Currently, the trend of interest in sustainable development is being recommended by international organizations and experts in many forums. We need sustainable development rather than hot development, industrial development that is too fast but unsustainable.
According to Mr. Pham Hong Quat, Thua Thien Hue is an example of both preserving and promoting cultural heritage and promoting its potential advantages for sustainable development while attracting international resources and sustainable green development with human resources.
“Many places have developed a lot of real estate, built houses and buildings, and now there is no chance to return to sustainable development. Some places are interested in building nurseries and hosts that are very beautiful and modern, but do not care about people and now the nurseries are empty. Not only in Vietnam but also in Southeast Asian countries, they are facing this situation,” Mr. Pham Hong Quat affirmed the current advantage of Thua Thien Hue compared to many other localities.
The 2024 Techfest event in the North Central and Central Coast regions has many activities such as the Workshop on "Consulting on policy mechanisms to promote the legal environment to support innovation and creative startups"; Exhibition, introduction of technology equipment, science and technology products and innovation, creative startup products, key products of the North Central and Central Coast regions.
In addition, the event also includes a Conference to evaluate the implementation results of coordinating Science and Technology activities; a Dialogue on Policy Exchange and Investment Connection; a Forum on “Connecting Resources, Promoting Creative Startups, Developing the Economy and Society of the North Central and Central Coast Regions”; and a Scientific Workshop on Improving the Technology Absorption Capacity of Enterprises.
