After Billboard released the list of Top 100 most influential people in the music industry in 2023, the No. 1 position in recent years, President of the world's largest music company UMG - Lucian Grainge, was replaced by Taylor Swift.

According to Billboard : "No one in the music industry wielded more power all year than Taylor Swift, who made history in stadiums, movie theaters and on the Billboard charts, leaving even the most seasoned executives speechless."
Despite being behind his own label’s exclusive artists this year, UMG Chairman Lucian Grainge has been a pioneer and leader in the music industry for years, consistently stressing the need for a “new model” for the music business, advocating an “artist-centric” approach to eliminate fraud and increase the creative value artists deserve.
