Tay Ninh affirms its position in the dynamic Southeast region

Tay Ninh was completely liberated at noon on April 30, 1975, and the day of reunification was also the time when Tay Ninh had to face countless difficulties: 60/73 communes were severely damaged, infrastructure was ruined, the economy was exhausted, and the vast majority of people lived in poverty.

Not only facing the consequences of war, Tay Ninh also shouldered the responsibility of protecting the southwestern border. In the first years after liberation, Tay Ninh focused on restoring agricultural production, stabilizing people's lives, expanding new economic zones, improving land, and developing irrigation systems. The highlight of this period was Dau Tieng Lake, the largest artificial irrigation project in Southeast Asia, mobilizing more than 14 million working days, becoming a symbol of the tireless working spirit of Tay Ninh people after the war.

When the whole country entered the renovation process in 1986, Tay Ninh gradually broke through difficulties, opening a new development period. From a poor agricultural province, Tay Ninh has risen comprehensively in terms of economy, infrastructure, culture - society, national defense - security and foreign affairs.

The economy is accelerating and integrating strongly, in which agriculture is developing in a modern direction, applying high technology, creating high value per unit area. In 2025, the value of harvested products will reach 115 million VND/ha, the rate of farm animal husbandry will reach over 80%. Dau Tieng Lake will become the "life source" of irrigation for over 100,000ha of agricultural land, contributing to stabilizing production for Tay Ninh and neighboring provinces.

Industry, which was almost empty after liberation, now has 6 industrial parks, 2 border economic zones and many industrial clusters with an occupancy rate of over 70%. The whole province has more than 400 FDI projects, with a total registered capital of over 11 billion USD. The renewable energy, agricultural processing, construction materials, clean industry sectors... are becoming new growth drivers.

Trade and services have grown impressively, modern retail systems are widespread, and tourism has developed remarkably. Ba Den Mountain has become a national tourist area, welcoming millions of visitors each year, making Tay Ninh an attractive destination on the national tourist map.

Society and culture have developed comprehensively with a synchronously invested education system, a high rate of national standard schools and high student attendance rate. Tay Ninh is one of the first provinces to achieve the standard of eliminating illiteracy and universalizing education at all levels. Healthcare has developed remarkably with 17 hospitals, over 90 primary health care stations, and 100% of communes having doctors. Modern medical techniques such as cardiovascular intervention and pacemaker transplantation are performed right at the provincial level.

The movement “All people unite to build a cultural life” has spread widely, 100% of districts and communes have cultural and sports centers; the system of cultural institutions has been invested in systematically. Traditional cultural values ​​are preserved and promoted, associated with tourism development. The province has 96 ranked relics, including the special national relic of the Central Office for Southern Vietnam - the revolutionary pride not only of Tay Ninh but of the whole nation.

Administrative, financial and credit reforms have changed positively, in which the administrative system has been improved, online public services at levels 3 and 4 have been deployed synchronously and transparently. The investment and business environment has improved significantly. Budget revenue has increased by an average of 5.4% per year, the poverty rate has decreased sharply, and people's lives have improved. Tay Ninh is among the top 10 localities with good economic management index (PCI) in the country.

As a border province, Tay Ninh plays an important role in protecting national sovereignty and developing foreign relations. Tay Ninh has completed more than 84% of the border demarcation work with Cambodia; friendly cooperation relations with neighboring provinces such as Svay Rieng and Prey Veng are constantly expanding.

National defense and security work has been firmly consolidated. The province has completed a border patrol route of more than 168km, built 32 permanent militia posts, and ensured security in border areas. Regular police forces have been deployed to 100% of communes, and the work of preventing and combating crimes and ensuring social order and safety has achieved many positive results.

According to the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Tay Ninh province, half a century has passed, the journey from bombs to peace, from poverty to development of Tay Ninh is a vivid proof of the strong vitality of a brave and resilient land. The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification is an opportunity for every Tay Ninh citizen to be more proud, continue to foster faith and determination, and together bring the homeland firmly into a new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
