Vietnamese Navy ships participate in Exercise Kakadu in Australia for the first time

VOV.VN - The Kakadu exercise is one of the military diplomacy activities of the Vietnam People's Navy in Australia. This is the first time the Vietnam Navy has participated in an exercise with other navies in Australia, after Vietnam and Australia upgraded their relationship to the highest level - comprehensive strategic partnership.
On the morning of August 24, at Naval Region 2, the working group and ship 18 departed to participate in the Kakadu 2024 exercise mission in Australia.
This is the first time a Vietnamese Navy ship has participated in the Kakadu Exercise hosted by Australia every two years since 1993.

Exercise Kakadu 2024 is scheduled to run from September 8 to 19, including port-based exercises and at-sea exercises.
The brigade commander and political commissar of the 171st brigade directly directed the ship to leave the port.

According to the announcement of the Organizing Committee of Exercise Kakadu 2024, 23 countries have registered to participate, including 16 ships and 5 aircraft.
