Traveling nearly 1,300 nautical miles (about 2,400km), Sailing Ship 286-Le Quy Don arrived in Indonesia as planned, ensuring absolute safety. During the journey at sea, the delegation organized long-distance seafaring training for final year students (course 65) of the Naval Academy; organized professional, technical, cultural, artistic exchange activities, and comrades' birthdays...
Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Deputy Commander of Operations of Surabaya Naval Base Muhammad Taufik welcomed the Le Quy Don Sailing Ship delegation to Indonesia and emphasized that the visit would be an opportunity to promote cooperation and exchange between the two navies.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome of the Indonesian Navy and Colonel Muhammed Taufik himself, Colonel Nguyen Dinh Giang said that according to the plan, the delegation of Sailing Ship 286-Le Quy Don will pay a courtesy visit to the leaders of Surabaya City, Fleet 2 (Indonesian Navy), Surabaya Naval Base, Indonesian Naval Academy; visit Sailing Ship Bima Suci; play football and volleyball with students of the Indonesian Naval Academy. Colonel Nguyen Dinh Giang affirmed that the visit and exchange will contribute to strengthening the friendship, cooperation, understanding and mutual trust between the Vietnam People's Army, Vietnam People's Navy and the Indonesian Army and Navy.
Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, the Indonesian delegation visited the ship and interacted with officers, soldiers and students on board.
During the visit to Indonesia from July 17 to July 20, the delegation is expected to have many foreign affairs activities and exchanges with the Indonesian navy.
This is the second time that sailing ship 286-Le Quy Don has visited Indonesia, after visiting Jakarta in 2019 and the first time the ship has visited Surabay city.
