On the afternoon of March 14, Ship 20 of Squadron 132, Brigade 172, Naval Region 3 docked at Da Nang port, ending its journey to participate in the 2024 MILAN Multilateral Naval Exercise in India and pay a friendly visit to Malaysia.

The delegation was led by Colonel Doan Bao Anh, Deputy Commander of Region 3. With the theme "Friendship - Solidarity - Cooperation", the 2024 MILAN Multilateral Naval Exercise will see the participation of navies from 47 countries.
Rear Admiral Pham Manh Hung, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Navy and the delegation on Ship 20 representing the Vietnam Navy attended the opening ceremony of the exercise.
The exercise was divided into two phases, taking place at locations onshore and in the sea area east of Visakhapatnam city. In the phase at the wharf, Vietnam's Ship 20 participated in activities such as professional exchanges, sea planning, maritime seminars, young officer exchanges, street parades, sports and cultural exchanges, etc.

During the sea exercise, Ship 20 belonged to Tactical Group 3 and participated in formation maneuvers, communications, rescuing people who fell into the water, docking and inspecting suspicious ships, mobilizing supplies at sea, and taking aerial photos of the formation.
The MILAN 2024 Multilateral Naval Exercise was a great success. Carrying out activities within the framework of the exercise, the Vietnamese Navy delegation closely coordinated and cooperated with other forces to well implement the proposed plans, ensuring absolute safety.

Previously, Ship 20 and the Vietnamese Navy delegation docked at Lumut port, Malaysia to visit and exchange with the Royal Malaysian Navy.
Participation in the MILAN multilateral naval exercise in India and exchange activities and diplomatic visits with the Royal Malaysian Navy aim to continue to enhance coordination and cooperation in responding to common challenges in maritime security while strengthening relations, cooperation, understanding and mutual trust between the armies and navies of the countries for peace and stability in the region and the world.
