Concentrate maximum resources to ensure electricity supply during Sam Son peak tourist season 2025

Accordingly, from the beginning of April 2025, Sam Son City Electricity has mobilized maximum human resources, vehicles, and equipment to conduct a comprehensive inspection and review of medium-voltage and low-voltage grids and distribution transformer stations throughout the city - especially focusing on hot spots of electricity demand such as: Ho Xuan Huong coastal route, Quang Cu tourist area, Nam Song Ma Avenue...

Inspection activities include: measuring temperature, checking contact heat generation, measuring voltage, current, internal resistance to assess equipment operating status; handling contacts, tightening bolts, replacing degraded equipment and components that no longer ensure technical safety; cleaning insulation and replacing broken porcelain and busbars at key transformer stations.

Along with that, as part of the long-term preparation plan, many medium and low voltage lines have been renovated and expanded to meet the increased load capacity during the tourist season. Sam Son Power Company also converted and replaced overloaded transformers, organized phase balancing and load sharing to optimize power distribution in densely populated areas and concentrated tourist accommodation.

In addition, the public lighting system on main streets and sea squares is also coordinated to review, repair and upgrade to ensure urban aesthetics and power grid safety at night.

One of the highlights in ensuring electricity supply during this year's tourist season is the promotion of digital technology in power system management and operation. SCADA (supervision, control and data acquisition) systems are applied at many intermediate transformer stations, allowing operators to remotely monitor equipment status, promptly detect and handle problems without having to go directly to the scene.

In addition, the application of remote measurement technology, collecting data from electronic meters helps monitor the load of each area, warning of the risk of overload so that appropriate adjustment measures can be taken. This is especially useful during peak days such as the holidays of April 30, May 1 and weekends.

Sam Son City Electricity workers cut down trees that could cause problems in the power grid safety corridor.

Sam Son enters summer, which is also the time when thunderstorms and strong winds often occur. To proactively respond to extreme weather, the unit has trimmed trees in the power grid corridor, reinforced poles and wires at risk of being unsafe, and prepared forces for 24/7 on-call duty. The incident response team is specifically assigned to each area, ensuring that the time to fix the incident is shortened to the maximum if an unusual situation occurs.
