This is the first time the British television station BBC has produced a documentary about the beauty of natural wonders and natural landscapes in Asia for viewers around the world. The Planet Earth III series has been airing since October 2023, most notably episode 6 "Extremes" aired on November 26, 2023, especially introducing spectacular footage inside Son Doong Cave.
Previously, to make the episode "Extremes", BBC cameraman John Shier and the crew spent 17 days living underground to film scenes inside Son Doong Cave.

Luke Nelson, another cameraman, told Variety that filming in the cave’s lighting conditions was the biggest challenge. The crew used a variety of cameras and specialized lenses to capture the most beautiful scenes of the cave and underground river. They had to use the most advanced technology and unique angles to capture every moment and movement in the world’s largest cave system. It took the crew a week to film from the cave entrance to the underground river and sinkhole 1.
11-16.2.2022 The film crew moved to Sinkhole 2 and spent another 6 days filming in this area. They focused on recording the diverse ecosystem inside the cave and exploring the magic of the Garden of Eden (a tropical forest growing below Sinkhole 2).
