Training on techniques for planting, caring for, harvesting red peanuts and managing and using the collective trademark "Si Ma Cai Red Peanuts"

On March 26, in Lung Than commune, the Farmers' Association of Si Ma Cai district coordinated with the Center for Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension, Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences to organize training on techniques for planting, caring for, harvesting red peanuts and managing and using the collective brand "Si Ma Cai Red Peanuts" for more than 50 farmers' association members of Lung Than commune.

During 1 day, farmers of Lung Than commune received knowledge about planting, caring and harvesting techniques for red peanuts from lecturers of the Center for Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension, Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

At the training course, the lecturers also introduced to the farmers about the production of red peanuts; requirements for climate conditions, soil, and nutritional needs of peanuts; characteristics of the origin of some new peanut varieties and methods of selecting and breeding peanut varieties; brand identification and management, use of the collective trademark "Si Ma Cai Red Peanuts" for red peanut products.

Red peanuts are a familiar crop to the people of Si Ma Cai, a short-term variety, easy to grow, requiring little care but bringing high economic efficiency. Through the training session, farmer members will learn and know how to apply science and technology into production practice, achieving higher economic efficiency. In addition, it also helps members know how to manage and use the collective brand "Si Ma Cai Red Peanuts".
