Conference overview

According to information from the Conference, the Project “Strengthening the prevention of biodiversity crimes by 2030, with a vision to 2050” was developed and implemented to raise public awareness and the effectiveness of the prevention of crimes related to biodiversity. This is an important step in protecting the environment and natural resources of the country. At the same time, it demonstrates Vietnam's determination to respond to the great challenges of the times.

Identifying the protection of biodiversity resources as an important strategic task, aiming to ensure long-term goals, ministries, departments, localities and functional forces have been implementing many effective solutions.

In addition to the issues of preventing biodiversity crimes, the issue of preventing avian influenza is also very complicated nationwide. Avian influenza is a very dangerous infectious disease caused by a virus in birds (including poultry and wild birds) and mammals (including humans). The disease can spread very quickly and widely, due to contact between healthy poultry and poultry, poultry products/food, drinking water, waste, tools, means of transport... carrying the pathogen.

Therefore, propaganda and dissemination activities on environmental protection, biodiversity protection, and avian influenza prevention and control are regularly organized and implemented by agencies, units, localities, and functional forces, creating positive changes in awareness, consciousness, and responsibility of agencies, organizations, and individuals in complying with the law on biodiversity and avian influenza prevention and control. Thereby, contributing to the conservation of ecosystems, conservation of wild animals and wild plants; helping people eliminate the habit and hobby of using wild species as jewelry, food, and medicine; as well as raising awareness and responsibility in avian influenza prevention and control right from the grassroots level./.
