Training on digital transformation in preventing and combating counterfeit goods, pirated goods and intellectual property infringement

On the morning of April 11, the Department of Science and Technology organized a training session on the topic "Digital transformation in the field of preventing and combating counterfeit goods, smuggled goods and infringement of intellectual property rights", aiming to update relevant information for management agencies, raise awareness of businesses and society about the role of digital transformation in detecting, preventing and handling counterfeit goods.

Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Phan Van Kien and Head of the Representative Office of the Intellectual Property Office in Ho Chi Minh City Tran Giang Khue along with representatives of provincial departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities; enterprises and cooperatives attended.

At the training session, delegates were provided with knowledge revolving around 3 topics: Digital transformation in production and business activities and the prevention and control of counterfeit goods, smuggled goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights in An Giang; the current situation of digital transformation in the prevention and control of counterfeit goods, smuggled goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights; protection of intellectual property rights for businesses in the process of digital transformation.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Phan Van Kien emphasized that, in addition to the benefits that e-commerce platforms bring, there are still many limitations in buying and selling on the online market such as the increasingly complex problems of counterfeit goods, smuggled goods, and intellectual property infringement on trading platforms. The training course aims to raise awareness of the role of digital transformation in detecting, preventing and handling counterfeit goods, smuggled goods, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights; share experiences and technological solutions to apply digital transformation to combat counterfeit goods, smuggled goods, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights and respond to World Intellectual Property Day on April 26.
