Thorough preparation for fighter flight

These days, at Kep military airport, Bac Giang, belonging to Regiment 927, Division 371, Air Defense - Air Force, preparations and training flights for the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 are being carried out very carefully and meticulously.

Participating in this training flight were 7 Su30-MK2 fighters with pilots from Air Force Regiment 927 and Regiment 923.

Before performing a training flight mission, the technical team must prepare carefully one day in advance.

Technical assurance work is strictly ensured before and after the flight crew conducts training.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Kiem, deputy chief of engineering of Regiment 927, said that after receiving instructions for the 2024 Vietnam International Defense Exhibition, the Regiment's engineering sector has organized plans to ensure aviation engineering for the missions.

"To conduct a training flight, we had to plan and prepare technical work a day in advance.

After the flight deployment, all aircraft participating in the flight that day will be checked and prepared for flight.

After the plane lands and returns, it will check for the next flight and after the flight ends, the flight crew will continue to check the post-flight preparation content," Lieutenant Colonel Kiem informed.

In addition to technical factors, the flight crew will also closely discuss training flight plans.

Pilots also undergo medical examinations to ensure their health before the flight.

After all technical, health and weather conditions were guaranteed, the pilots conducted training flights as planned on the Su30-MK2 fighter.

The command board and pilots met to discuss training flight plans as well as military doctors to check the pilots' health.

Honor and pride to fly in the homeland sky

For Lieutenant Colonel pilot Vu Duc Hung, deputy regimental commander and chief of staff of Regiment 927, this is the second time he has participated in a demonstration flight to serve the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition.

Lieutenant Colonel Hung said he felt extremely proud and honored to be one of the pilots flying the Su30-MK2 fighter jet in this special event.

"This is the second time I have participated in a flight demonstration for the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition and was part of a team of four Su30-MK2 fighters. It is a source of pride, luck, joy and honor for a pilot to be able to fly and perform in a very special event celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army," Lieutenant Colonel pilot Vu Duc Hung said emotionally.

Lieutenant Colonel Hung said that this was not only his own feeling but also the feeling of all pilots every time they flew in the sky of their homeland and country. Everyone was filled with pride because they were fighter pilots of the heroic Vietnamese Air Force.

According to information from Regiment 927, this year's demonstration flight content is different and special compared to 2022 when flying in formation with 3-4 fighter jets in the sky of Hanoi.

The performance at Gia Lam airport will feature acrobatic moves and performances by each Su30-MK2 fighter jet.

"To do that, we have been actively training since the beginning of the year with core teachers and pilots from 2022.

In particular, focus on formation flying, low to extremely low altitude flying, and improving navigation techniques. In addition, there is more meticulous coordination and cooperation between the flight commander, pilots, squadron numbers, and between the front and rear cabins...", Colonel Hung added.
