Thuan An Group requests to stop construction of Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project

On the afternoon of July 10, at a press conference on the socio-economic situation of Khanh Hoa province, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chief of Office of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, informed about a number of issues related to Thuan An Group.

The Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway has a total investment of VND21,935 billion, approximately 117.5km long, connecting the two provinces of Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak. This route has 3 component projects, assigned to the Ministry of Transport and 2 localities where the route passes through.

On the Khanh Hoa side, the Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway component 1 project is 32km long, including 2 construction packages. Package 1 with a length of 22km is constructed by Son Hai Group. Package 2 with a length of 10km is implemented by 4 joint contractors, in which Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company is the leader.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha said that Thuan An Group is the leader of the consortium of 4 contractors implementing package 2 of the project. Currently, package 2 has not been constructed due to land acquisition problems. The consortium mainly excavates and fills some roadbed locations, casts sewer pipes, and casts girders of a bridge.

In addition, after the leaders of Thuan An Group were prosecuted and temporarily detained, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province directed the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects (a unit authorized by the Provincial People's Committee) to work with representatives of Thuan An Group. In particular, the provincial unit requested the above enterprise to clarify the possibility of continuing the bidding package for this expressway project.

According to Mr. Ha, recently, in a discussion with related parties, representatives of Thuan An Group asked the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee not to participate in the consortium of contractors implementing package 2 of the expressway project. Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee directed relevant units to meet and find suitable solutions to ensure the progress of the project.

The contractor mobilized hundreds of personnel and nearly 100 vehicles to urgently construct the 32km Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway through Ninh Hoa town.

Relocating a series of high voltage power poles to construct the Van Phong – Nha Trang expressway

The intersection points between the high-voltage transmission line and the Van Phong – Nha Trang Expressway (Khanh Hoa) are being relocated to speed up the project's construction progress.

Current status of Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway over 11,800 billion VND

Van Phong – Nha Trang Expressway with an investment of more than 11,800 billion VND has basically completed site clearance, thousands of workers have been mobilized to urgently construct the project to speed up progress.
