Vietnam Electricity Corporation and Vietnam Rubber Industry Corporation sign cooperation agreement.

On February 24, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and Vietnam Rubber Industry Group (VRG) signed a cooperation agreement to support each other in performing their respective functions and tasks in investing and developing the electricity sector.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the EVN Board of Members Dang Hoang An affirmed that the cooperative relationship between EVN and VRG has been nurtured and strengthened over many years. The Chairman of the EVN Board of Members expressed his hope that in the future, the cooperative relationship between the two sides will become even deeper and more concrete, being realized through many specific and effective programs. The EVN leader also expressed strong support for the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group's renewable energy development orientation.

On behalf of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group (VRG), Chairman of the Board of Directors Tran Cong Kha stated that for many years, EVN has been a partner in the development of the rubber industry, providing electricity services to VRG and its member units. He acknowledged that EVN's responsible support and contributions have been instrumental in the overall achievements of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group over the years. Mr. Tran Cong Kha affirmed his belief that with the signed cooperation agreement, the two sides will be strategic and reliable partners, leveraging their strengths and enhancing efficiency in their respective areas of operation, in line with each other's strategies.

Some of the cooperation contents between the two corporations include: both sides agree to support and facilitate land compensation and clearance for the investment and construction of power lines and substations according to the plan on rubber plantation land. Land compensation and clearance at substation locations and transmission and distribution line foundations will be carried out in accordance with the law.

EVN and VRG also agreed to support and facilitate the submission of reports to competent authorities for consideration of supplementing and updating the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, regarding renewable energy projects being studied and developed on rubber plantation land, potential pumped-storage hydropower projects; and to study options for cooperation in developing new power source projects...
