According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long, science and technology activities and innovation are considered important pillars on the development path of the University of Transport Technology.

In recent years, the school has had thousands of publications in prestigious domestic and international scientific journals, dozens of research topics at the State level, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Construction with many products of high application value. The school has 2 lecturers in the top 100,000 most influential scientists in the world, including 1 lecturer who is one of 9 Vietnamese people in the top 10,000 most influential scientists in the world.

"In particular, an extremely proud, meaningful and groundbreaking result is that the Journal of Science and Technology of Transport JSTT - published by the University of Transport Technology - has been officially indexed in SCOPUS just 3 years after the publication of the first issue", Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized.

He expressed his belief that being recognized by Scopus is a milestone marking a strong transformation of JSTT, a premise for the Journal to continue to reach further on the international academic map, contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese intelligence in the field of transport science.

At the same time, affirming the achievements of JSTT Journal is not only the honor and pride of the school, but also a great source of motivation, strongly inspiring other higher education institutions across the country. This is a vivid proof of the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to overcome difficulties in the journey of innovating the university governance model, improving the quality of scientific research and international publications.

This result also contributes to the practical implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development and application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in education and training. With high determination and aspiration to excel, higher education institutions in Vietnam can fully integrate and compete equally with advanced education systems in the world.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long said that in the coming period, the University of Transport Technology will focus all resources to strongly develop key areas according to social needs such as high-speed railways, urban railways, smart transportation, semiconductor chips, and artificial intelligence.

"We are committed to continuing to improve academic quality, innovate in training and research, constantly expand international cooperation and strongly promote the role of JSTT as an academic center serving the sustainable development of the industry and the country," Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long affirmed.

At the same time, expressed the wish to continue receiving special attention from ministries and branches, especially the Ministry of Construction, in creating favorable conditions for infrastructure investment and long-term development.

National achievements affirm the increasingly high position of Vietnamese scientific journals

Speaking at the Conference, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh emphasized that the inclusion of JSTT Journal in the Scopus index is not only an important development milestone of the University of Transport Technology, but also a national achievement, affirming the increasingly high position of Vietnamese scientific journals on the international academic map.

"JSTT is one of the very few Vietnamese journals with an internationally recognized university publisher, developed entirely based on academic strength, rigorous peer review process and clear internationalization strategy.

This proves that if we have the determination, the right strategy, proper investment and perseverance, Vietnam's research and training institutions can completely develop scientific journals that meet international standards. From there, we will contribute to the goal of "developing science and technology to truly become the key driving force for national development" as set out in the spirit of the Central Resolutions," said the Minister.

According to the Minister, in the process of national innovation, the national education system in general and the system of universities under the Ministry of Construction in particular have been gradually improved in an open direction, building a learning society; the scale and network of educational and training facilities have developed, better meeting the needs of regular and lifelong learning of the people.

Our Party has determined that innovation in higher education associated with increased autonomy is being implemented, training is more closely linked to labor market needs; scientific research and technology transfer are being promoted; international scientific publications are being given attention.

The Minister affirmed that the event of announcing the Journal of Science and Transport Technology (JSTT) officially joining the Scopus database is a testament to the spirit of determination to implement the policies of the Party and State in developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as stated in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in developing science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation and most recently Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP dated April 8, 2025 amending and perfecting the strategic contents of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.

Minister Tran Hong Minh said that in order to complete the strategic goals assigned by the Party and the State, high-quality human resources continue to be identified by the Party Committee of the Ministry of Construction as a strategic breakthrough, requiring the united efforts and great determination of the team of teachers and education managers to successfully carry out these tasks and strategic breakthroughs.

The Minister suggested that the University of Transport Technology should focus on implementing 4 issues.

Firstly, identifying the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation as the top important breakthrough, the main driving force for socio-economic development, preventing the risk of falling behind, and bringing the country to breakthrough development and prosperity.

Second, focus on building a team of teachers and educational managers with virtue and talent, who are passionate, enthusiastic, skilled, knowledgeable, capable of imparting knowledge, eager to learn, innovative, and truly role models for students to learn from and follow; sufficient in number and consistent in structure.

Attracting talented people and motivating teachers and education managers to work with peace of mind. Having breakthrough solutions to develop a team of leading experts and scientists, especially in key industries of the industry such as bridge and road construction technology, construction management, etc., especially high-speed railways.

Third, build a truly healthy learning environment, creating favorable conditions for learning, research, exposure, challenges, and training so that graduates can quickly adapt to work. Continue to accelerate the process of "digital transformation" in higher education and strengthen international cooperation in university training, especially in key professions to enhance the capacity of schools and attract students to study key professions.

Fourth, many businesses now tend to associate and cooperate with higher education institutions in training to search for and order human resources, especially high-quality human resources. For schools, this is an opportunity to implement the motto "learning goes hand in hand with practice".

Grasping that trend, the University of Transport Technology needs to identify cooperation with domestic and foreign organizations and enterprises as both a goal and a driving force for the sustainable development of the school.

The Minister suggested that the school should expand training cooperation models, especially with large enterprises and corporations so that students can both study theory and practice, access new construction technology, and provide high-quality human resources for the Industry and the Ministry.
