On the afternoon of February 13, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, answering reporters' questions about the visa exemption policy for citizens of some countries, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said that earlier this year, the Vietnamese Government issued Resolution No. 11 on visa exemption with a temporary stay of 45 days from the date of entry for citizens of Switzerland, Poland and the Czech Republic entering Vietnam for tourism, regardless of passport type, on the basis of fully meeting the entry conditions according to Vietnamese law.

This policy will take effect from March 1, 2025 and will last until December 31, 2025. This decision is within the framework of the Tourism Development Stimulus Program in 2025.

According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the talks, meetings, contacts and working sessions of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation during their official visits to the Czech Republic, Poland and to Switzerland, the leaders and all sectors of these three countries highly appreciated these decisions of Vietnam.

"Vietnam's policy is to create more favorable conditions for foreigners to enter, exit and reside in Vietnam, thereby contributing to the development of the tourism industry in particular and the socio-economy of Vietnam in general," Ms. Pham Thu Hang emphasized and said that in recent times, Vietnam has had many measures and solutions to promote and attract international tourists to Vietnam, improve the quality of the tourism industry and create favorable conditions for tourists to enter and reside in Vietnam.

Vietnam's visa policies for foreigners have been amended to extend the duration and expand the conditions for granting e-visas, as well as to extend the temporary residence period for foreigners entering Vietnam under unilateral visa exemption.

The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Vietnamese Government wishes to establish appropriate mechanisms on the basis of reciprocity in entry and exit or bilateral visa exemption with partner countries, in order to facilitate the travel of Vietnamese people and people of partner countries./.
