That was the affirmation of Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien when delivering the closing speech at the 2nd Conference of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, 10th term, 2024-2029 term, on January 20.
At the Conference, providing information on the implementation results of Resolution 18-NQ/TW of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and some outstanding contents in the Front's work in 2024, Chairman Do Van Chien stated that, based on practical requirements, the Politburo reported to the Central Executive Committee to summarize Resolution 18-NQ/TW and made some appropriate adjustments to arrange the apparatus, streamline the payroll for efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency. The Politburo established the Central Steering Committee on summarizing Resolution 18-NQ/TW with members being comrades in the Politburo and the Secretariat, in which General Secretary To Lam is the Head of the Steering Committee.

Emphasizing the innovations in implementing the summary of Resolution 18-NQ/TW of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman Do Van Chien stated that, thoroughly grasping the direction of the Politburo, the Central Steering Committee and the direction of General Secretary To Lam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has resolutely, synchronously, quickly and effectively implemented the review, arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to ensure effectiveness and efficiency to fulfill the noble mission assigned by the Party, State and people.
By December 31, 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front had completed the review and arrangement of its internal organization and reduced it from 16 focal points to 8 focal points; it was assessed by the Central Steering Committee as one of the agencies that performed this task well.
“In the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW, the Politburo will soon announce the establishment of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations. The establishment of the Party Committee will strengthen the coordination between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its affiliated Party organizations, thereby contributing to firmly consolidating the great national unity bloc,” Chairman Do Van Chien informed and hoped that the elders and members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will promptly grasp and reflect the people's situation and support the great revolution of our Party and State.
Referring to some highlights of the Front's work in 2024, Chairman Do Van Chien also said that after completing the construction of 5,500 houses for poor households and people in difficult circumstances in Dien Bien province and the Northwestern provinces, the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front reported to the Politburo and the Secretariat, and coordinated with the Central Emulation and Reward Council to launch the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in 2025.
“Immediately after its launch, the movement received great support from society. Up to now, the program has built over 76,000 houses, and 220,000 houses need support to be built with a budget of about 6,000 billion VND,” Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized and requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and cities to pay attention to strongly promoting the implementation so that the program can ensure the right progress as planned, striving to complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025.
According to Chairman Do Van Chien, the highlight in 2024 is also the Vietnam Fatherland Front mobilizing agencies, businesses, organizations and individuals at home and abroad to support large resources to send to people in 26 provinces and cities in the Northern region to overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 3 (Yagi).
At the end of the donation period, the Central Relief Mobilization Committee received over VND 2,573 billion and allocated resources to localities to ensure transparency. The inspection results of the monitoring teams showed that localities had allocated VND 2,040 billion and made the list public at the Commune People's Committee. The remaining amount will be discussed, agreed upon and a specific Resolution will be issued by the Party Delegation and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee on the allocation of donations.
Regarding the results of taking care of the poor and people in difficult circumstances during Tet, Chairman Do Van Chien said that during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to coordinate with socio-political organizations and mass organizations to mobilize social resources along with the State budget to take care of Tet for the people.
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has allocated VND17 billion to support localities in taking care of the poor during Tet. In recent days, the Secretariat has assigned leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front to visit, encourage, and give gifts to policy families, the disadvantaged, and the poor in difficult circumstances in 63 provinces and cities. With the support of the Central Government, local Party committees, authorities, and Fatherland Fronts have mobilized resources to support the poor during Tet.
From the achievements of the Front's work in 2024, Chairman Do Van Chien hopes that the seniors and members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to have dedicated opinions and specific contributions so that the Vietnam Fatherland Front can complete the proposed action program.
