Creating a source for a film script to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding

The Department of Cinema has implemented an in-depth investment program to create a source of feature film scripts, aiming to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

According to Notice No. 331/TB-DA dated April 2, 2025 of the Department of Cinema, the in-depth investment program to create a source of feature film scripts is implemented to contribute to realizing the guidelines, policies and strategies of the Party and State on the development of culture, literature and arts; promote the creation of high-quality feature film scripts, towards the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2030).
Develop a source of film scripts with valuable ideological content and good form of expression; praise the country and people of Vietnam, promote patriotism, revolutionary traditions, national culture and humanistic values.
The in-depth investment program is for professional creators such as screenwriters, directors, writers, artists... working in the film industry. Accordingly, authors will be supported with investment in each stage of creation if they have an approved outline or script, and are invited by the Organizing Committee to participate in actual creative activities... Each author can participate in a maximum of 2 script outlines.
Authors participating in the program are responsible for creating outlines and scripts that meet the criteria for content and script completion time; and are legally responsible for copyright and issues related to their works.
Scenarios participating in in-depth investment must have themes about revolutionary history, leaders, national heroes; highlands, mountainous areas, border areas, islands, ethnic minority areas; preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural values.
The central content is about the comprehensive leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam on all levels: Leading the people to fight against foreign invaders; fighting for national independence and national unification; building socialism with the goal of "Rich people, strong country, democracy, equality, civilization"; international integration...; studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.
The script outline must be 3,000 - 5,000 words in length. The completed script must be capable of producing a 90 - 120 minute film.
In addition to the script outline and complete script, the Organizing Committee encourages authors to submit a production plan, such as composition, planned filming location, location, time, progress; estimated film production costs...
The in-depth investment program is implemented in stages. The Organizing Committee will receive and select script outlines from April 5, 2025 to May 20, 2025. The time for selecting and accepting outlines is before May 30, 2025.
The Organizing Committee will organize a practical writing session (expected) for authors whose outlines are selected and accepted from June 10-15, 2025. During the writing process, authors will participate in professional activities such as: exchanging with experts on revolutionary history and national culture; exchanging skills and experience in writing film scripts. Authors must submit their completed scripts before August 15, 2025.
The script is expected to be accepted before September 10, 2025. The results will be announced to the authors before September 20, 2025.
