Mr. Huynh Van Phu's family is a Raglai ethnic group in Dong Me village, Duc Thuan commune, a poor household. In recent years, Mr. Phu's family has had to live in a small, makeshift house with bamboo walls that does not ensure a living for family members. Through local screening, Mr. Phu's family is one of many households in Tanh Linh district that are eligible to build houses approved by the Provincial People's Committee in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province in 2025. Accordingly, Mr. Phu's family has been supported with 60 million VND to build a house. Currently, his family's house is under construction and is expected to be completed and put into use in more than a month. Mr. Phu shared: "I feel very happy and pleased to receive support from the locality to build a house. This has been my family's dream for a long time. With a new house, we will feel secure in doing business and escape poverty."

Also during this period, the house of the heroic Vietnamese mother - Huynh Thi Thu (born in 1928), Duc Phu commune was also repaired to ensure living conditions for the mother and her relatives. Currently, Thu's mother is living with her biological daughter. The level 4 house where she is living is degraded, the corrugated iron roof is rusty, the wooden beams are warped, some doors are damaged, and the walls are peeling because it was built a long time ago. With the support of 50 million VND, Thu's mother's house has been repaired in items such as replacing the corrugated iron roof, replacing the wooden beams, tiling the walls, laying floor tiles, painting the walls, etc. Currently, Thu's mother's house is in the process of being repaired, expected to be completed before April 30, 2025.

According to the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Tanh Linh district, after the launching ceremony of the peak period of "50 days of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the district" at the end of March, communes and towns have simultaneously implemented projects to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in their localities. The whole district has 237 households that meet the legal conditions for residential land to support the construction of new houses and repair of houses according to regulations (108 newly built households, 129 repaired households). Up to now, 118 households have started construction (54 newly built households, 64 repaired households). Specifically, 30 households have contributed to the revolution (8 newly built households, 22 repaired households). Up to now, 29/30 households have been implemented, of which 7 newly built households and 22 repaired households. With this result, Tanh Linh is assessed by the province as one of the localities with a high number of houses built and repaired for meritorious people. For poor and near-poor households, the whole district has 202 households (97 newly built, 105 repaired). Up to now, 86 houses have been built (30 newly built, 26 repaired for poor households; 16 newly built, 14 repaired for near-poor households). For other disadvantaged households, there are 5 households (3 newly built, 2 repaired), currently 3 households have been built (1 newly built, 2 repaired).
Currently, the district still has 119/237 houses that have not been started (54 new constructions, 65 repairs). Tanh Linh district strives to complete the construction and repair of houses for meritorious people before April 30, 2025 and complete the construction and repair of houses for poor, near-poor and other disadvantaged households before June 30, 2025. In addition, the district still has 194 households with legal problems (124 new constructions, 70 repairs). To ensure the program is on schedule, Tanh Linh District People's Committee has proposed many solutions. Specifically, calling for the cooperation of organizations, individuals and businesses to contribute and support more funds, materials, labor, etc. in the spirit of "whoever has something to contribute, whoever has merits to contribute, whoever has property to contribute, whoever has a lot to contribute a lot, whoever has a little to contribute a little" to increase the value of construction and repair works. Along with that, direct the Commune People's Committee to establish a progress inspection team, and at the same time assign officials to coordinate with supported households to speed up the progress of starting construction, completing new construction, and repairing houses for households with meritorious services to the revolution, poor households, near-poor households, and other disadvantaged households in the area. Lead and direct the government to closely coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Branch of the District Land Registration Office to remove obstacles related to land law, and carry out administrative records on land for beneficiaries of policies...
The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is one of the major policies of the Party and the State to ensure social security and help families of meritorious people, people from poor and near-poor households, and other disadvantaged households to have a stable life. When having solid houses, people will feel secure in working and producing, increase their income and escape poverty sustainably. With the drastic participation of the authorities from the district to the commune and the cooperation of the community, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Tanh Linh district will achieve the set results, bringing joy and happiness to the people.
