Since the Quang Tri Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Writers Association opened the "Aspiration for Peace" Reading Room (26 Tran Hung Dao Street, Dong Ha City) in May 2023, many journalists, writers, and poets have visited and donated books.

On June 19, 2024, the Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper and Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, Truong Duc Minh Tu, visited and presented 30 copies of three volumes of essays: "At the Foot of the Ancient Citadel," "The River of Memories," and "Returning to the Old Riverbank"; and donated 10 volumes of selected poems by poet Le Thi May, former Editor-in-Chief of Cua Viet Magazine, to the "Aspiration for Peace" Reading Room.

Upon learning this information, many writers and poets such as Truong Hoa Binh, Chau La Viet, Le Thi May, etc., through journalist Truong Duc Minh Tu, donated books to the "Aspiration for Peace" Reading Room, hoping to add more new works and contribute to making the reading room richer and more diverse in terms of books across various genres and fields; thus better meeting the needs of readers.

The authors who donated books this time shared that they will continue to donate more of their works to the "Aspiration for Peace" Reading Room in the future, and will also encourage organizations, individuals, and writers and poets inside and outside the province to support the provision of more books for readers.

Poet Vo Van Luyen, representing the Vietnam Writers Association branch in Quang Tri province, said: “The ‘Aspiration for Peace’ reading room currently has more than 3,200 books, of which the branch has mobilized more than 2,000 books from many publishers, writers, and poets nationwide; the provincial library transferred more than 1,100 books.”

Today, the "Aspiration for Peace" Reading Room received 50 books from writers and poets through journalist Truong Duc Minh Tu. This practical action aims to better meet the needs of readers who come to participate in activities, exchange experiences about culture and literature, connect literary creation, ignite a passion for reading, and contribute to enhancing knowledge for readers of all ages, especially students. The "Aspiration for Peace" Reading Room expresses its gratitude for this meaningful contribution from the writers, poets, and journalist Truong Duc Minh Tu.
