Mr. Nguyen Tri Cong, Chairman of Dong Nai Livestock Association, said that with the current price of live pigs, farmers are making a profit.
"Psychologically, pig farmers always want pork prices to increase for good results, but on a macro level, it is necessary to harmonize the interests of farmers and consumers with reasonable prices. When the domestic pork price level increases, imports will increase to cool down," said Mr. Cong.
The Chairman of the Dong Nai Livestock Association said that importing enterprises calculate profits before importing, not to dominate the market. "If they import genuine goods, there is no need to worry too much because the price difference is not much. As for by-products and organs, they need to be controlled to protect consumers and domestic livestock," said Mr. Cong.
