24k gold plated durian given to the auction winner of "Durian Queen"

On August 22, the People's Committee of Krong Pak district (Dak Lak) held a press conference to inform about the 2nd Krong Pak durian festival with the theme "Krong Pak durian integration and development".

The festival will take place from August 30 to September 2, 2024 at the center of Phuoc An district town and some communes in Krong Pak district.

The festival aims to honor the efforts of farmers and convey the values ​​and best durian products to domestic and foreign consumers.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year’s street festival has many innovations. At the festival, there will be a parade of container trucks to honor businesses. In addition, there will also be vehicles of farmers in Krong Pak district.

Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Pak District, said: "With the aim of honoring good durian farmers who create great economic value, a parade of about 60 pickup trucks will be organized to represent farmers in Krong Pak District. In addition, at the street festival, there will be new performances and acts imbued with national identity welcoming visitors."

At the press conference, answering reporters from Giao thong Newspaper about traffic safety, Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh said that the district will have specific traffic flow on each route and remote traffic flow on National Highway 26.

During the festival, the organizers will urge businesses to not circulate containers and 3- and 4-wheel vehicles during the day, as well as during the opening and closing nights. These vehicles will be advised to circulate during appropriate time frames.

The police also worked with businesses in the district to coordinate smoothly and ensure traffic safety for people and tourists coming to the festival.

According to the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Pak District, there are currently about 300 containers in the district gathering to transport goods, and warehouses and vacant lots are full of container trucks. Not only containers but also trucks, pickup trucks, and vehicles supplying goods to purchasing units.

Regarding the contest of good farmers and durian knockers, the organizing committee is ready to create the best conditions to welcome visitors to attend and participate in the contest.

Two 24K gold-plated durians will be given to the winner of the auction of two "Durian Queens".

"In particular, at this festival, the Organizing Committee will auction two unique "Durian Queen" fruits Ri6 and Dona selected from more than 31 durian gardens in the area. The auction winner will receive two 24K gold-plated durians worth 50 million and 70 million VND. The auction funds will be used by the Organizing Committee for social security and reinvestment in farmers," Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh emphasized.

According to the Organizing Committee, in 2024, Krong Pak district will have about 8,000 hectares of durian with an expected output of over 92,000 tons. Durian has become the main crop of Krong Pak district, bringing a prosperous life to farmers here.
