World gold price developments
Source: Kitco World gold prices increased in the context of the falling USD. Recorded at 6:45 p.m. on December 25, the US Dollar Index, which measures the fluctuations of the greenback against 6 major currencies, was at 101.360 points (down 0.12%). Increasing expectations that the Fed will ease monetary policy continued to weigh on the greenback as the US Dollar Index fell. Gareth Soloway - President of VerifyInvesting.com predicted that the index could fall below 100 points. The weakening USD will continue to support the increase in gold as it increases the attractiveness of this precious metal to buyers holding other currencies. The sharp decline in the USD price will support gold prices. Gold prices this week are expected to be relatively quiet as no important economic information is released. However, market strategist Colin Cieszynski of SIA Wealth Management said that gold will continue to be favored as a safe haven due to rising geopolitical concerns.
