On the evening of January 2, the Vietnamese team won 2-1 against the Thai team in the first leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final at Viet Tri Stadium.
As soon as the final whistle blew, thousands of Da Nang residents poured into the streets to celebrate. Central city streets such as Le Duan, Dien Bien Phu, Nguyen Van Linh… became crowded with vehicles.
According to records, during this "storm", traffic congestion at key intersections such as Dragon Bridge area, Nguyen Van Linh Street... has decreased significantly compared to previous times. Most people strictly obey traffic lights.
At some key intersections and five-way intersections, traffic police and public order police have been deployed to ensure security.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung (living in Hai Chau district) said that before, every time there was a storm, there would be serious traffic jams. If the Law on Traffic Safety and Order was strictly followed, the traffic jams would be significantly reduced, and people and authorities would have less trouble.
“I am very happy that the Vietnamese team won and even happier that this time there was no traffic jam like the previous celebrations. If the Vietnamese team had won, I think there would have been more people on the streets. However, the fact that everyone strictly followed traffic laws this time is a good sign, moving towards a more civilized way of “going stormy”, said Mr. Hung.

Joining in the bustling atmosphere, many people carried national flags, some even brought pots, pans, and pans to celebrate. The sound of trumpets and shouts of “Vietnam” created a bustling, joyful atmosphere.
Mr. Nguyen Si (living in Lien Chieu district) and his friends went out to celebrate the victory of the Vietnamese team and did not forget to strictly obey traffic lights to avoid being fined.
According to Mr. Si, with the new regulation increasing the penalty level, people will comply more strictly with the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order.
