At the Conference on motor vehicle inspection in 2023 of the Vietnam Register (Ministry of Transport) on the afternoon of January 13, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Director of the Vietnam Register, said that up to now, the whole country has 274/292 inspection centers in operation, equivalent to more than 82% of the inspection capacity of the entire system.

There are currently 18 inspection centers that are closed due to investigation, lack of conditions or voluntary closure.
Since the end of June 2023, the nationwide inspection system has basically returned to normal operation, well meeting the vehicle inspection needs of people and businesses.
Regarding the human resources of vehicle inspectors, the Vietnam Register has organized 31 vehicle inspector assessments, newly recognized 295 vehicle inspectors and 279 senior vehicle inspectors; evaluated and re-issued vehicle inspector certificates to 217 vehicle inspectors and 236 senior vehicle inspectors.
Up to now, the whole country has 1,747 inspectors performing inspection work at inspection units, including 1,002 senior inspectors and 745 motor vehicle inspectors.

In case a motor vehicle has changes but does not change the characteristics or type of vehicle, it is not considered a renovation, and the technical safety and environmental protection of road motor vehicles must continue to be inspected to be granted an inspection certificate and inspection stamp.
In response to the need to improve quality and prevent negativity in inspection work, the leader of the Vietnam Register said that he will propose adjusting the price of inspection services to suit reality, creating attractiveness for investors in this field.
