Strengthening the handling of violations of counterfeit goods that directly affect consumers' health

According to statistics from the National Steering Committee 389, in the first quarter of 2025, units and localities arrested and handled more than 30.6 thousand violations (down 0.77% compared to the same period last year), collecting more than 4.6 trillion VND to the state budget.

Of which, the authorities have detected and arrested more than 6,700 cases of buying, selling and transporting banned and smuggled goods; 22,700 cases of trade fraud and tax fraud; about 1,100 cases related to counterfeit goods and intellectual property violations...

In Dong Nai, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 has directed departments, branches and functional forces to proactively monitor market developments, promptly detect fluctuations in supply and demand, and commodity prices. At the same time, strengthen inspection, control, prevention and timely handling of acts of transporting and trading in smuggled goods; production and trading of counterfeit goods, banned goods, poor quality goods, goods that do not ensure food hygiene and safety, violations of intellectual property and other violations...

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son requested the National Steering Committee 389, ministries, branches and localities to closely follow the key directions and tasks in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2025 to develop programs, plans and solutions to fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in accordance with the practical situation of localities and units.

In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to strengthening inspection and handling of violations related to counterfeit and poor quality goods that directly affect consumers' health; commercial fraud on e-commerce platforms... At the same time, ministries, branches and localities need to further promote information and propaganda work so that people can become smart consumers, actively contributing to the fight against smuggling, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods.
