Strengthening State management of tourism development and getting ready for the opening of the Hai Tien Sea Tourism Festival in 2024

In the immediate future, Hoang Hoa district needs to focus on preparing conditions for the opening of the Hai Tien Sea Tourism Festival in 2024. In addition, it is necessary to research, develop and organize attractive annual cultural, sports and tourism events, becoming a brand highlight for Hoang Hoa tourism.

On the afternoon of April 24, the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee worked with Hoang Hoa district on tourism management and development and preparations for the opening of the Hai Tien Sea Tourism Festival in 2024.

Attending the meeting were comrade Nguyen Van Thi, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, members of the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee and Hoang Hoa district.

Overview of the working session.

According to the report of Hoang Hoa District People's Committee, in recent years, the district has focused on developing tourism in a synchronous and effective manner. Up to now, the investment in infrastructure connecting tourist areas and spots has been gradually completed; with traffic infrastructure and tourism service infrastructure planned and invested in a spacious and modern manner; tourism products have been focused on renewing and developing in the direction of diversifying types.

Thanks to that, in 2023, the district welcomed over 1.6 million visitors, reaching 115% of the plan, with estimated revenue reaching over 2,000 billion VND; in the first 4 months of 2024, the whole district is expected to welcome over 30,000 visitors; the average room occupancy rate is estimated at 60%.

Regarding the opening ceremony of the Hai Tien Sea Tourism Festival, which will take place at 8:00 p.m. on April 29, 2024, all preparations have been basically completed. Hoang Hoa District has established a festival organizing committee, assigning specific tasks to members of the organizing committee and related units for implementation.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Thi Hai Yen spoke at the meeting.

The members of the working delegation discussed and pointed out a number of shortcomings and limitations in tourism development in the district such as: The internal traffic system of the tourist area, water supply and drainage, lighting, public sanitation works, wharves and parking lots are still lacking and not synchronized; the operation of four-wheel electric vehicles serving tourists and means of transport in the tourist area are still chaotic; environmental sanitation issues still have many shortcomings, especially in the collection and treatment of wastewater and waste; many types of tourism with potential in Hoang Hoa have not been effectively exploited; tourism promotion, smart tourism, digital transformation in tourism development are still limited; the number of tourists to Hai Tien still accounts for a low proportion, the spending level is low compared to the average of the province.

Concluding the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Thi highly appreciated the efforts of Hoang Hoa district in managing and developing tourism and attracting investors to invest in major tourism projects.

However, in order to achieve the goal of making Hoang Hoa tourism a truly attractive destination not only for Thanh Hoa province but also for the Northern and North Central regions, the district needs to prioritize focusing resources and mobilizing social resources to develop tourism. Along with that, urgently complete the Hoang Hoa District Tourism Development Project for the period 2023-2030 to ensure quality; focus on diversifying tourism types, strengthening links with neighboring localities and areas; focus on exploiting and rationally using landscape values, natural resources and culture. In particular, it is necessary to proactively and actively carry out tourism promotion and advertising activities; do a good job of propaganda, promotion, and bringing the image of Hoang Hoa tourism to domestic and international friends.

At the same time, improve the effectiveness of state management of tourism; have a strict and scientific management plan, increase patrols and control of four-wheel electric vehicles serving tourists; deploy conditions to ensure safety for tourists swimming at public beaches; strengthen inspection and supervision of tourism activities, especially price listing management and selling at the correct listed price; focus on ensuring food hygiene and safety, environmental sanitation; security and order...

Actively coordinate with departments, branches and units in the province to resolve difficulties and obstacles, speed up the progress of major tourism investment projects to soon complete and put into operation new, quality tourism products and services.
