Strengthening international cooperation and linkage in the field of education and training

In the context of global integration, Vinh Phuc has strengthened international cooperation and linkages in the field of education and training. The province has issued many mechanisms and policies to attract domestic and foreign international organizations and units to invest in education development. The provincial People's Committee leaders have warmly welcomed foreign delegations wishing to cooperate in education with Vinh Phuc.

In September 2024, provincial leaders worked with representatives of the Korea Automotive Research Institute and the Vietnam - Korea Technology Consulting and Solutions Center on the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Department of Education of Gangwon Province and the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Phuc in supporting in-depth training in the field of high-tech industry for Vinh Phuc students. In October 2024, provincial leaders continued to have a working session with the Chairman of KinderWorld International Education Group (Singapore) on the implementation of the investment project of the Singapore International Education Complex Urban Area in Vinh Phuc...

The provincial Department of Education and Training has also proactively promoted international cooperation and association activities to develop in an advanced and modern direction. From 2021 to present, the Department of Education and Training has welcomed and worked with many foreign educational organizations and agencies to promote opportunities for exchange and cooperation such as organizing online conferences with representatives of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, the Dai Viet Association and a number of Taiwanese universities; referencing models and results of implementing study abroad programs with practice in Taiwan; discussing long-term cooperation strategies on training teachers and managers in the education and training sector, student exchange programs, and study abroad scholarship programs with Hwa Chong International School (Singapore)...

Recently, the Department of Education and Training signed a memorandum of cooperation agreement with the Department of Education of Gangwon Province on introducing and selecting students to study abroad in Korea in the field of vocational training...

At schools, international cooperation and association activities in education are also emphasized. As a bright spot in promoting the effectiveness of international cooperation in high schools, in recent years, Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted has expanded its cooperative relations with more than 30 partners, including schools and educational organizations at home and abroad, to teach international programs; invite native teachers and cooperate with a number of centers and schools in the UK and the US to organize free foreign language classes for students; be a partner of the British Council in teaching and organizing IELTS exams; organize an annual Admissions and Study Abroad Consulting Day with the participation of dozens of domestic and foreign partners.

The school cooperates with the US Embassy to organize cultural and educational exchanges and dialogues; coordinates with many units to implement consulting programs, study abroad connections, international scholarships for students, etc.

Mr. Phan Duong Can, Vice Principal of Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted, said: “International cooperation and association activities help the school build sustainable relationships with foreign educational institutions and schools, which are a resource to support teachers and students in teaching and learning; help teachers and students access advanced educational programs, modern educational methods, and improve the quality of teaching and learning. Through international cooperation and association activities, students have the opportunity to exchange cultures, develop soft skills to study and work in a multinational environment; many students have the opportunity to study abroad with scholarships in countries with developed education systems such as the US, Canada, France, Germany, Finland, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong…”.

Vocational education institutions (VET) in the province have also promoted international cooperation and association activities, typically implementing pilot training programs according to international standards at college level for many occupations such as automotive technology, metal cutting, industrial electricity, industrial electronics, welding, etc. Thanks to that, Vinh Phuc has achieved many remarkable results in training high-quality human resources to supply the labor market.

Teacher Tran Duc Tiep, Principal of Viet Xo Vocational College No. 1 said: “The school has implemented international cooperation in many fields such as cooperation with foreign enterprises or enterprises with foreign investment capital in training and supplying human resources; cooperation with universities and colleges in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Germany... organizing seminars, talks, student exchanges, academic research, technology transfer; sending lecturers to participate in capacity building training in Australia, Malaysia, Korea...

International cooperation and association activities in vocational training have brought about many positive results from improving teaching quality, improving facilities to creating career opportunities for students. In the development strategy, the school continues to expand relations with international schools with the same training majors, businesses, and unions related to the majors and professions the school is training to improve the quality of vocational training towards innovation and international integration.

Strengthening international cooperation and linkages is the right, practical and appropriate direction to improve the quality of education and training towards international standards, contributing to Vinh Phuc building an education system that reaches the advanced level of the region and approaches the world level. This is the foundation for the education and training sector to develop sustainably and perform well the task of training high-quality human resources, meeting the needs of the labor market and socio-economic development of the province.
