Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet highly appreciated the important significance of the Political Consultation mechanism in reviewing and promoting the implementation of agreements of high-ranking leaders; enhancing cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries and exchanging views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Permanent Deputy Minister Albert Chua affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of Singapore in the region; bilateral cooperation mechanisms between the two countries, including the Political Consultation mechanism, have actively contributed to the effective implementation of the Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Partnership.
The two sides agreed that the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership has been increasingly deepened and effective in all areas of cooperation. High-level delegation exchanges and contacts have been maintained at a high frequency; relations between the two ruling parties have developed well, with the extension of the training program for mid- and high-ranking officials of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Singapore.
The two Prime Ministers also established an Annual Meeting mechanism during the joint participation in multilateral conferences to review and discuss the overall direction of cooperation between the two countries. Economic cooperation remains an important foundation in the bilateral relationship; Singapore is the second largest investor in Vietnam with 3,742 projects, totaling over 80 billion USD. These achievements include important contributions from 18 Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIPs) in 13 provinces and cities of Vietnam. Cooperation in other important areas such as defense, security, education, culture, and people-to-people exchange is considered important for development, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.
Regarding the future direction, the two sides agreed to closely coordinate and promote the effective implementation of agreements between the two countries' leaders; prepare well for high-level exchanges and contacts, first of all, the annual meeting mechanism between the two Prime Ministers; strengthen economic ties between the two economies, deepen cooperation in other important areas such as education, culture, tourism, people-to-people exchange, etc., contributing to soon bringing the relationship between the two countries to a new height.
The two sides affirmed that they will coordinate to promote the implementation of the Digital Economy-Green Economy Partnership and the Framework Agreement on Connecting the Two Economies to create breakthroughs in new areas such as circular economy, digital transformation, innovation, green energy, sustainable development, etc.
Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet hopes that there will be more new-generation, smart and green VSIP zones in Vietnam; proposes that Singapore continue to support Vietnam in improving the quality of human resources, especially strategic-level officials; maintain and increase the number of scholarships for Vietnam; train human resources for the digital transformation process, especially in the fields of cybersecurity, data flow migration, artificial intelligence; and support Vietnam in researching and building a model of a National Data Science Innovation Center.
Deputy Minister Albert Chua hopes that the two sides will coordinate to promote cooperation in new areas such as clean energy, including wind power; carbon credit exchange to achieve the goal of net zero emissions by 2050. Pleased with the news that Vietnam has become the largest rice supplier to Singapore in the first 6 months of 2024, Deputy Minister Albert Chua suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in the import and export of agricultural products, contributing to ensuring food security; promote aviation connectivity to develop the economy, trade, and tourism; affirm that Singapore will effectively expand management training programs for Vietnam such as "Management for Leaders" or "Potential Leaders".

The two sides discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern, and agreed that Sub-regional cooperation plays an important role in the development of the ASEAN community and sustainable development in the region. The two sides agreed to maintain consultations and actively coordinate with ASEAN member countries in the process of building strategies to implement the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, further promoting ASEAN's central role in regional issues; promoting ASEAN solidarity, unity and sustainable development, based on the established principles and standards of conduct; and improving and innovating working methods towards a self-reliant ASEAN that adapts to future opportunities and challenges.
The two sides also shared their assessments and determination to build the East Sea into a sea of peace, cooperation and development; together with ASEAN countries, seriously and fully implement the DOC Declaration, striving to soon achieve a quality, effective and efficient COC in accordance with international law and the 1982 UNCLOS.
Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet also asked Singapore to pay attention, support and attend at a high level at the ASEAN Future Forum 2025 in Vietnam to exchange ideas and initiatives to support regional cooperation.

Minister Vivian Balakirshan congratulated Vietnam on its 79th National Day and once again expressed his deepest condolences to the Government and People of Vietnam on the passing of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The Singaporean Foreign Minister sent his congratulations and affirmed that he will continue to closely cooperate with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son to promote the Singapore-Vietnam Strategic Partnership to develop strongly in all fields. Minister Vivian Balakirshan affirmed that Vietnam has always been an important and reliable partner of Singapore both bilaterally and in regional cooperation. Referring to the agreements between the two countries during high-level visits, Minister Vivian Balakrishan suggested that the two Foreign Ministries closely coordinate with relevant ministries and sectors of the two countries to contribute to promoting all areas of cooperation, especially connecting the two economies and new areas, and soon bringing the relationship between the two countries to a new height.
