Strengthening judicial cooperation between Cao Bang province (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China)

On the morning of April 24, in Cao Bang city (Vietnam), a meeting took place between the delegation of the Department of Justice of Cao Bang province (Vietnam) and the delegation of the Department of Justice of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) to specify the content of cooperation in the field of judicial administration.

Speaking at the talks, the Director of the Cao Bang Department of Justice affirmed that the talks demonstrated the determination of the two Parties and States to continue consolidating and enhancing the friendly neighborly relationship, promoting practical and effective cooperation in the judicial field, contributing to maintaining peace, stability and sustainable development in the border area.

In the spirit of openness, cooperation and friendship, the two sides focused on discussing, exchanging and agreeing on the expected contents of the memorandum of cooperation in the field of administrative justice. The contents under consideration include: Maintaining a sustainable coordination mechanism, regularly exchanging information and experience in disseminating laws and providing legal aid in border areas; coordinating and guiding competent agencies to effectively disseminate the three legal documents on borders; enhancing the dissemination of legal education, providing free legal services to people in ethnic minority areas and border areas; effectively managing marriage registration involving foreign elements; supporting border residents to legally register their marriages, ensuring compliance with the laws of each country; sharing experiences and coordinating in legal aid work, especially for citizens in border areas as stipulated in the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance between the two countries; Enhance professional exchanges between bar associations, facilitate professional cooperation, and support the implementation of judicial work at the grassroots level.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Li Daojun, Director of the Department of Justice of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from Cao Bang province and emphasized the role of establishing a regular cooperation mechanism between the two sides. He also shared the development orientation of Guangxi's judicial sector, especially the application of artificial intelligence in legal administrative reform, and hoped that the two sides would maintain a regular coordination mechanism and continue to expand cooperation in applying technology to judicial administrative reform.

The two sides agreed to finalize the content of the memorandum in the coming time, expected to be signed in June 2025, creating a legal basis for implementing specific and long-term cooperation activities.
