Strengthening media cooperation between Vietnam News Agency and Dien Bien province

On April 22, in Dien Bien Phu city, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) held a signing ceremony for the Media Cooperation Program for the 2025-2029 period. This event marks a new development step in the cooperative relationship; opening a period of more comprehensive, effective and practical cooperation in the field of information and propaganda.

At the ceremony, Party Secretary and General Director of VNA Vu Viet Trang affirmed that VNA and Dien Bien province are both facing the tasks of building an organizational structure and operating an effective, efficient and productive operating model.

In the coming development journey, VNA will continue to stand side by side with Dien Bien province in the field of information and propaganda, first of all with the task of informing about the rearrangement of commune-level administrative units and Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 15th Dien Bien Provincial Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress.

Dien Bien Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong affirmed that for many years, VNA's press products have brought vivid information and images about the land, people and history of Dien Bien province, associated with the Dien Bien Phu Victory, in multiple languages ​​to people and friends around the world .

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong suggested that with the strength of a national news agency with a widespread information network and modern journalism technology in information production and distribution, VNA should continue to coordinate more closely with the province, contributing to the further development of the border province of Dien Bien. In the coming time, Dien Bien province will merge Dien Bien Phu Newspaper and Dien Bien Radio and Television Station. The province hopes that VNA will support the training of quality human resources and share experiences in modern journalism so that the new press agency can further develop and meet the information needs in the new situation...

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province Le Thanh Do emphasized that based on the practice of communication in the coming time, Dien Bien province wishes to use publications and communication channels of VNA to enhance information and propaganda on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; results achieved in socio-economic development, Party building, consolidation of the political system, ensuring national defense and security of the province...; especially actively orienting public opinion on sensitive issues arising in Dien Bien province.

The propaganda coordination program between VNA and Dien Bien province aims to help both sides fulfill their political functions and tasks in the new situation; strengthen information, propaganda, and promote the image of Dien Bien on VNA's media.

The cooperation content focuses on disseminating the viewpoints, guidelines, policies and new regulations of the Party, Government and State on Dien Bien; the achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien province; widely promoting the image of the heroic people and land to the public at home and abroad, creating consensus and unity...

The cooperation also contributes to informing the policies of Dien Bien province; propagating the implementation and results of the implementation of resolutions, directives, conclusions, programs, action plans of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dien Bien province; especially policies to attract investment, develop economy, culture, society, consolidate security and defense development, foreign information, major programs and projects, results of applying science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, issues of social security, education, tourism, transportation, culture, etc.

The two sides cooperate to promote typical and exemplary models of Dien Bien in emulation movements; examples of good people, good deeds; good and effective ways of performing tasks of economic, cultural and social development, ensuring national defense and security...; closely coordinate to provide and grasp accurate, objective and true information to verify, clarify, correct or refute false information, dispel misunderstandings and frustrations in the community, contributing to stabilizing the situation and public opinion in the province...

The two sides support the opening of professional training courses on journalism; apply technology, thereby helping to improve the quality of works, expand access to information and reach the public. At the same time, the two sides support local press agencies to add English, French, Spanish, Chinese and Russian versions to bring official information about Dien Bien to international friends, especially young readers...

Over the years, VNA and Dien Bien have always maintained an effective media cooperation relationship, together doing a good job of information and propaganda. VNA, directly through its resident reporters, has always received support and created conditions for information and propaganda work on key activities and strategic development plans of Dien Bien to be effectively implemented. VNA's information has reflected the efforts, solidarity and consensus of the Party Committee, government and people of Dien Bien in building the province to develop more and more, gradually changing its appearance.

Dien Bien has always paid attention to and created favorable conditions for VNA reporters, especially VNA correspondents in Dien Bien, in their local press activities. The VNA resident office and the team of VNA reporters in the province have closely coordinated with agencies, localities and units to promptly and accurately disseminate political-social, economic-defense-security activities, Party building and the political system; promote the image, potential, advantages and investment attraction policies of the province to the public...

On this occasion, VNA leaders visited, encouraged and presented 20 gifts to disadvantaged households in Pa Khoang and Muong Phang communes affected by storms in 2024./.
