Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ngo Trinh Ha said that Japan is an important partner of Vietnam. In 2023, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, the two countries upgraded to a strategic partnership. Currently, Japan is Vietnam's largest ODA partner and second largest FDI partner.
Vietnam-Japan labor cooperation has been developing rapidly and extensively in many fields. Currently, Vietnam and Japan cooperate in labor in three fields: labor, vocational training and education; and social security. In addition, Vietnam and Japan have established about 100 pairs of bilateral local relations.

Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha expressed his gratitude to Tokushima province for creating conditions for Vietnamese people in Japan to live, study and work.
In the coming time, the Consul General requested local leaders to pay attention and create more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community. Increase the reception of more Vietnamese workers and strengthen cooperation between localities.
At the meeting, Mr. Gotada Masazumi, Governor of Tokushima Prefecture, highly appreciated the contributions of Vietnamese workers to the socio-economic development of the province and said that Vietnamese workers are and will continue to become an indispensable labor force of Tokushima Prefecture in the coming time. The province also awarded many scholarships to Vietnamese international students.
During the discussion, the Governor of Tokushima Prefecture proposed opening a Vietnam - Tokushima flight route; opening a Japanese language school in Tokushima Prefecture and hoping to receive more skilled workers from Vietnam to work in the province.
The Governor of Tokushima Prefecture is confident that attracting and increasing the reception of Vietnamese workers will not only contribute to ensuring human resources for the province's socio-economic development but also contribute to strengthening cooperation between Tokushima Prefecture and Vietnam.
