The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that the Vietnamese National Assembly wishes to further strengthen cooperation with the Bulgarian National Assembly, especially after the two sides signed a new Cooperation Agreement in 2023.

On the afternoon of November 25, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.
Welcoming President Rumen Radev and his wife and the high-ranking delegation of the Bulgarian State on an official visit to Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the visit is an important milestone in the cooperative relationship between the two countries, the first of many important events that the two countries jointly organize on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025; affirming the high determination of the leaders of the two countries in strengthening, promoting and bringing the relationship between the two countries to new heights.
Vietnam always remembers the precious sentiments and great support that the Bulgarian people have given Vietnam in the past struggle for liberation, regaining independence and national reunification as well as in the cause of socio-economic construction and development today.
Thanking the warm welcome that National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man gave to the delegation, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev stated that the traditional friendship between the two countries has a long history and is developing well.
President Rumen Radev expressed his pride in Bulgaria's assistance to Vietnam in developing human resources and training more than 30,000 highly skilled workers; who have since made important contributions to Vietnam's development, contributing to fostering the traditional friendship between the two countries.
The Bulgarian President thanked the Vietnamese National Assembly for its active support for the Bulgaria-Vietnam cooperation in general, as well as the cooperation between the two countries' National Assemblies in particular; he believed that the close cooperation between the two countries' National Assemblies would create a legal framework to strengthen and deepen the relationship between the two countries.
The Bulgarian President said that he had a successful meeting with President Luong Cuong; in which the two sides discussed major orientations and specific measures to strengthen cooperation in the coming time.
Affirming that Bulgaria prioritizes promoting cooperative relations with Vietnam, President Rumen Radev said that the two sides need to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economics, investment, science-technology, education and training...
President Rumen Radev congratulated Vietnam on its great achievements in the cause of Renovation, national development and international integration; said that with its economic development achievements and increasingly high political position, Vietnam is an important factor in the Southeast Asian region; affirmed that Bulgaria is ready to be a bridge to promote comprehensive cooperation between the European Union and Vietnam.
The National Assembly Chairman thanked and appreciated the Bulgarian National Assembly for promptly ratifying the Investment Protection Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EVIPA) right before the visit to Bulgaria by the Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman in September 2023, contributing to facilitating investment activities of businesses on both sides.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman asked Bulgaria to contribute its voice in support of the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the yellow card on Vietnam's seafood exports, taking into account Vietnam's determination, efforts and positive results achieved in seriously implementing the EC's recommendations on sustainable fisheries development.

Emphasizing that the potential and room for cooperation between the two sides is still very large, the National Assembly Chairman said that the two countries must strengthen cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, education, and defense and security.

To further strengthen cooperation between the two National Assemblies and contribute to deepening the Vietnam-Bulgaria relationship, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man proposed that President Rumen Radev support the two National Assemblies to maintain exchanges of high-level delegations and committees, exchanges and contacts between Friendship Parliamentarians Groups, young parliamentarians and female parliamentarians; and coordinate to monitor and promote the effective implementation of agreements between the two Governments.
The two sides maintain contact, consultation, coordination and mutual support at multilateral parliamentary forums as well as on regional and world issues of mutual concern.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman thanked the State, Government and National Assembly of Bulgaria for their support to the Vietnamese community living and working in Bulgaria in recent times; and thanked President Rumen Radev personally, who always has good feelings and cares for the development of the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria.
The National Assembly Chairman hopes to continue receiving attention and support from President Rumen Radev to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria to stabilize their lives, integrate well into the local community, and continue to make many positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Bulgaria as well as the traditional friendship and good cooperation between the two countries.
President Rumen Radev affirmed that Bulgaria is always a trustworthy friend and supporter of Vietnam in regional and international forums, especially in the EU and the European Parliament (EP); said that Bulgaria wishes to receive more Vietnamese people to study and work, as well as Vietnam's investment activities in Bulgaria; believed that the results of this visit will create new momentum in the relationship between the two countries./.
