Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski expressed his wish to organize a Tango event in Hanoi so that the young generation of Vietnam can better understand the culture of Argentina. The Ambassador also suggested that football is a strong point of Argentina, through which a technical cooperation program for Vietnamese football could be implemented.
On November 8, in Hanoi, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh received Argentine Ambassador to Vietnam Marcos Antonio Bednarski for a courtesy visit on the occasion of his new term.
Promote exchanges in many fields
At the meeting, Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski thanked Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh for taking the time to receive the delegation. Reviewing recent activities, the Ambassador said that 2023 is a special time in Vietnam - Argentina relations, when the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 13th anniversary of the Comprehensive Partnership (2010-2023).
In 2023, many high-ranking Vietnamese delegations paid official visits to the Republic of Argentina to strengthen the traditional friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Argentina, and to elevate the comprehensive partnership between the two countries to become more substantive and effective. On that basis, the people of the two countries can expect the good bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Argentina to develop further.

Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski affirmed that Vietnam’s position as the third largest trade partner in Asia has shown the importance of Vietnam in bilateral relations, thereby showing great potential for development. Argentine businesses always follow the development of Vietnam closely, considering it an economic development model worth learning from.
Regarding the relationship between localities, Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski affirmed: The Embassy of Argentina is always ready to welcome and cooperate in the activities of the Hanoi city government. In December 2024, the Embassy will participate in a culinary festival in Hanoi and will bring special Argentine cuisine to this event.
To further strengthen the friendship and solidarity between the two countries, on the occasion of Argentina's National Tango Day, Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski proposed to organize this cultural event in Hanoi so that the young generations of the two countries can participate and better understand the culture of the South American country. The Ambassador also expressed that football is a strong point of Argentina and Argentina can implement a technical cooperation program for Vietnamese football.
Due to the great geographical distance, Vietnam and Argentina are drafting a direct flight route and the Ambassador hopes to soon implement this project in the future. This is a driving force to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
Create a platform for cooperation in many fields
Expressing his agreement with the proposals of Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that Vietnam and Argentina, although geographically distant, have friendly relations and always give each other solidarity and valuable support. After the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Partnership in 2010, the relationship between the two countries has had very positive new developments in all fields.
According to the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, in recent years, Hanoi has organized many high-level delegations to visit and work in Argentina. In August 2024, the Hanoi delegation visited and worked in Argentina with good results.
According to Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, although cooperation between Hanoi and Argentina is still modest, the positive development of the Vietnam - Argentina relationship in recent times has created a foundation to promote cooperation between the two capitals in the fields of investment, trade, tourism, cultural exchange, art, and transportation.
With great potential for cooperation, Hanoi wishes to promote cooperation with Buenos Aires and other localities of Argentina on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two cities in 2008, focusing on the fields of urban management, public transport, human resource training, innovation, biotechnology, digital transformation, investment cooperation, trade, tourism and cultural exchange, with the promotion of contact activities and delegation exchanges at all levels between the two cities.
Through the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina and the Argentine Embassy in Vietnam, the two sides promote connections between the business community, promote opportunities and cooperation potential, and support businesses investing and doing business in Hanoi and Buenos Aires, as well as other localities of Argentina.
