Strengthening the prevention and control of dengue fever in Quang Nam

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Health to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches, agencies, units and localities to advise on developing a plan to organize activities in response to the 15th ASEAN Dengue Prevention and Control Day (June 15, 2025) according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health ; proactively communicate dengue prevention and control before the epidemic season and deploy practical activities, promote the role of the government, departments, branches, socio-political organizations and people to actively participate in dengue prevention and control in the area.

In addition, the Department of Health needs to closely monitor the thorough handling of dengue fever outbreaks in the locality (if any); organize chemical spraying in 100% of households in epidemic areas; coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to mobilize students to participate in cleaning and eliminating mosquito larvae in residential areas and schools; direct medical examination and treatment facilities in the province to organize well the admission and treatment of patients, minimize deaths due to dengue fever, especially at private medical examination and treatment facilities, avoid the situation where patients do not receive timely consultation, emergency care, treatment and referral; at the same time, have a plan to allocate treatment routes, support lower levels, avoid hospital overload; preside over and organize interdisciplinary inspection teams to inspect and supervise the implementation of the instructions of the Ministry of Health and the Provincial People's Committee related to the prevention and control of dengue fever.

The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities are required to direct and mobilize local departments, branches and socio -political organizations to coordinate with the health sector to deploy a campaign to eradicate mosquito larvae/wrigglers, ensuring that all households in epidemic and at-risk areas must have their water tanks, containers, utensils, waste, and mosquito breeding grounds inspected and monitored to carry out methods to eradicate mosquito larvae/wrigglers...
