According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, up to now, the area of spring rice cultivation in the whole province is 34,854 hectares, reaching 98.79% of the plan. Currently, the rice plants are in the green recovery - tillering stage; some pests and diseases such as rice blast disease, rats... have appeared and caused damage. This is an important time to determine productivity if proper care and pest control techniques are used.

According to the forecast of the Viet Bac Regional Hydrometeorological Station, from now until the end of February, the weather will remain at a low temperature below 200C , combined with prolonged light rain and high humidity, which is very favorable for harmful fungi to develop, affecting growth and development, reducing crop yields.
In the face of the above situation, to ensure the successful implementation of the rice production plan targets for the spring crop and the whole year of 2025, and to overcome unfavorable weather conditions, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development recommends that localities focus on directing specialized departments and units to increase their efforts to the grassroots level to direct farmers to sow and plant the entire area according to the plan; provide instructions on rice care from the beginning, conduct pruning and patching to ensure density, and maintain water levels in the fields at 2-3 cm.
For rice areas that have not been fertilized for the first time, the rice has taken root and turned green, farmers are instructed to fertilize when the temperature is above 15 0 C with the amount of 12 kg NPK-S 12.5.10-14/sao or 3-4 kg nitrogen + 2-3 kg potassium/sao (or use other organic fertilizers, specialized fertilizers according to the manufacturer's recommendations); combined with mud aeration to help the root system develop, increase the ability to absorb nutrients, and limit physiological diseases.
Strengthen field inspection to detect early and direct timely and effective prevention and control of pests and diseases right from the beginning of the crop, paying special attention to rice blast disease; organize a concentrated rat extermination campaign from now until March 15, 2025.
