Giving water tanks to people in Tan Tru district
Implementing the model of “Adapting to climate change”, the Provincial Women’s Union donated 26 water tanks, each with a capacity of 1,000 liters, to people in Tan Phuoc Tay and Nhut Ninh communes. These are two localities heavily affected by saltwater intrusion in previous years. The total cost of the program is nearly 60 million VND.
Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union - Le Thi Cam Tu said: "The model of "Adapting to climate change" has been deployed and implemented by all levels of the Union, in which the activity of donating clean water tanks is one of the important and meaningful contents. This is the sharing, heart, and companionship of the Women's Union for families who are having difficulty in accessing safe water sources, especially during the dry season, contributing to the implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction".
Donating water tanks not only helps women's households have tools to store clean water, ensuring a source of water for daily use during the drought and saltwater intrusion season, but also contributes to improving living conditions and ensuring environmental sanitation.
Through this meaningful activity, the Women's Union at all levels wishes to contribute to improving the quality of life for people, especially women and children, in areas facing difficulties in domestic water sources; at the same time, raising community awareness about proactively responding to drought and saltwater intrusion./.
