On the morning of April 20, the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup 2025 "Non song lien mot doi" - HTV - Ton Dong A racing team entered the 16th stage, 190 km long, from Buon Ma Thuot City ( Dak Lak ) to Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa). Three racers Nguyen Hoang Giang (Gao Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang), Nguyen Duong Ho Vu (TP HCM New Group) and Nguyen Pham Quoc Khang (Pelio Kenda Dong Nai) broke away strongly, forming the leading group towards the finish line.

However, teams 620 Vinh Long Agriculture and 620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long proactively pulled the group together to bring "sprint king" Nick Kergozou back into the competition.

It seemed that the foreign racer would continue to dominate the finish line, but a surprise happened when Nguyen Tan Hoai (Domesco Dong Thap Pharmaceutical) closely followed Savva Novikov (Binh Minh Binh Duong Plastic), then sprinted at lightning speed in the last 100m, passing a series of foreign riders to reach the finish line first amid the cheers of the people in the coastal city of Nha Trang.

This is the first time Nguyen Tan Hoai has won a stage at the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup and he is also the second Vietnamese racer after Nguyen Van Binh to defeat foreign players in the sprint race.

After 16 stages, Mikhail Fokin (Loc Troi An Giang Group) continues to hold the Yellow Jersey. Tomorrow, April 21, the racers will enter stage 17, 141 km long from Nha Trang to Da Lat, conquering the two passes of Khanh Le and Giang Ly - considered a pivotal stage, which can change the entire rankings of this year's race.
