Tan Chau announced the completion of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

On the afternoon of April 21, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Chau Town held a conference to summarize and announce the completion of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. Secretary of Tan Chau Town Party Committee Nguyen Van Cop chaired the conference.

The program has the active participation of philanthropists and the Hoa Hao Buddhist Executive Committee of localities.

At the ceremony to announce the completion of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the town presented 149 gifts to policy households, poor and near-poor households in the locality.

Through screening, the entire town has 151 households in need of support to build new and repair houses (including 104 newly built houses and 47 repaired houses), with a total cost of over 8 billion VND. Of which, the town mobilized over 5.8 billion VND from local mobilization sources and allocations from the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, along with many practical items from organizations, individuals and the community.

By April 2025, Tan Chau Town had completed the construction of 149 houses (including 46 for policy households and 103 for poor and near-poor households), with a total cost of 8.9 billion VND, ensuring progress 1 month ahead of the town's plan, 2 months ahead of the province's plan and 5 months ahead of the central government's plan. The houses were built according to the model approved by the Department of Construction, with full ancillary works, helping people settle down and stabilize their lives.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Cop affirmed: "The completion of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses not only demonstrates the spirit of "Mutual love and affection" and "Repaying gratitude" but also contributes to strengthening the great national unity bloc, creating momentum for sustainable poverty reduction in the locality."

On this occasion, the town commended many outstanding collectives and individuals who made positive contributions to the implementation of the program.
