Bathing in the highway construction area, a 6th grade male student in Quang Tri drowned.

On the afternoon of October 28, the leader of Cam Thuy Commune People's Committee (Cam Lo District, Quang Tri) confirmed that a tragic drowning incident had just occurred in the area.

The area where the drowning occurred is part of the Cam Lo - Van Ninh expressway project.

Specifically, at around 2:00 p.m. on October 28, three sixth-grade students residing in An My village (Cam Tuyen commune) and Tam Hiep village (Cam Thuy commune) came to play and bathe at the construction site of the Cam Lo - Van Ninh expressway, in Tam Hiep village.

Many people came to the scene to watch the incident.

At around 4:00 p.m. the same day, HTĐ. saw two friends drowning, so he used a wooden stick to save T.Đ.N. and called for help from everyone.

Hearing the shouts, Mr. Mai Van Bao (born in 1994, residing in Tam Hiep village) arrived at the scene, dived to search and rescued HNM and brought him to shore.

When pulled ashore, Mr. Bao and Mr. Dao Duy Loi (born in 1992, residing in Tam Hiep village) performed first aid and took HNM to the emergency room but he did not survive.

Upon receiving the information, Cam Lo District Police, Cam Thuy Commune Police and related units went to the scene to investigate and clarify the matter.

According to records, at the scene of the drowning incident, the construction unit did not have barriers or warning signs.
