At the 15th Session, based on the proposal of the City People's Committee, the Tam Ky City People's Council unanimously passed a resolution approving the policy of merging An Xuan and Phuoc Hoa wards into a new administrative unit. These are two adjacent administrative units subject to arrangement; with relatively synchronous development level and infrastructure.
Accordingly, the entire natural area and population size of An Xuan ward and Phuoc Hoa ward will be merged into a new administrative unit, the name of the new administrative unit is An Xuan ward.
After the merger, the new An Xuan ward has a population of 18,580 people and a natural area of 1.75 square kilometers. The office is located at the current An Xuan ward headquarters; address: N24 street, An Xuan ward.
According to the People's Committee of Tam Ky City, the policy of merging An Xuan and Phuoc Hoa wards into one administrative unit is based on Conclusion No. 48 (dated January 30, 2023) of the Politburo on continuing to reorganize district and commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2030 period; Resolution No. 35 (dated July 12, 2023) of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the reorganization of district and commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2030 period; Notice of Conclusion No. 601 (dated August 30, 2023) of the Standing Committee of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee on the plan to reorganize district and commune-level administrative units in the province in the 2023-2025 period.
Tam Ky City People's Committee also issued Project No. 06 (April 19, 2024) on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units for the period 2023 - 2025, merging An Xuan ward and Phuoc Hoa ward.
Implementing the policy of the Central, province and city, the two wards previously organized to collect voters' opinions and the result was that the vast majority agreed to the merger policy.
Specifically, An Xuan ward had 6,558 voters (100%) participating in the vote and 99.6% of voters agreed to the merger. Similarly, Phuoc Hoa ward had 3,005 voters (100%) participating in the vote and 99.5% of voters agreed to the policy of merging the two wards.
At the same time, the People's Council of An Xuan and Phuoc Hoa wards also held a meeting and passed a resolution approving the policy of merging wards into new administrative units. Thus, after merging An Xuan and Phuoc Hoa wards, Tam Ky City has 12 communes and wards (reduced by 1 ward); including 8 wards and 4 communes.
